I thought about it earlier when the electrical issue cropped up, because jump starting a generator isnt such a fantastic thing to have to do, especially with a long line outside the window. Then, I have been watching the forecast, and heaven only knows what thats gonna look like in the morning. Will it storm? Will it be gorgeous? Idk but, we're gonna call it for tomorrow and try again for Thursday morning in town instead.
Id rather get this gremlin worked out sooner than later so we'll be getting the rig looked at tomorrow and get a plan in place.

Sorry yall.

We had a great evening at Four Maples Place Night Market by RA Snoznik Homes and Bridges Hospice tonight! It was awesome seeing some of our tried n true customers and getting to meet new folks! Thank you to our dear friends who brought their friends out to see us, it blew me away.
Thanks also for those who patiently waited in line as we rolled (okay, I nearly melted down) through the wonky generator issue. The incredibly kind gentleman who helped jumpstart it back to life after I couldnt comprehend the jumper cable....youve got free drinks for life, good sir! Stop back anytime 😊

It was also such fun getting to see our pals Funky Funnels, Little Garden Kitchen, Burning Oaks Coffee Company and Camino Food Truck to catch up! Always fantastic when theres time to connect. If you aren't already following those faboolous businesses, be sure to do so.

We'll be back in July! Already cant wait for it. 🖤💀☕️

P.S. in true fashion, I didnt slow down long enough to get ANY photos. But my conscientious friends did, so definitely go check them out to see proof of life photos...and follow some kick ass businesses

Thank you so very much to everyone who visited us at the Fayette County Fiber Festival today! It was such a fantastic morning getting to caffeinate everyone and see some of our fiber arts friends. This was our 2nd year in attendance and its absolutely one of our favorite shows to be part of.

I was lucky enough to get out and enjoy the show and scored some gorgeous coffin shaped earrings, fresh catnip for my fur babies, 2 stunning and spooky felted wool creatures and snagged a gluten free blueberry pie 🥰🖤

The weather held out until almost the end of the show, and we only sustained a little bend in our coffee flag. I hope our fellow vendors made it home safe and sound! That weather crashed in so fast. Keri and team, you all are to be commended for such a fabulous event. Thank you! We are already looking forward to next year 🖤

In case our general vibe hasn't tipped you off, you should know that we're not exactly a "conform or leave" kind of place.

The Coffin Bean was built *by and for* the ones who don't quite fit anywhere else. The weirdos, the misfits, the glitter goths, the q***r, the questioning, the allies, the all-black-everything-is-spooky crowd. Every month is a celebration of that here.

But this month especially, we want to say it plainly:

You are welcome here.
Your identity, your pronouns, your aesthetic, your whole self. Come as you are.

However, what we dont ever tolerate is hate. We don't serve it, we don't platform it, and we don't make room for it. Not in our line, not at our window, not in our comments.

If you hate? Weve got a hearse, some coffins, and can hide the bodies easily.

Join us as we stretch out into these gorgeous early summer days. We're picnicking at the cemetery, harkening back to Victorian times.

Our June Menu has finally risen from the depths.

Picnics in cemeteries were very common in Victorian times as they were often the only public green space in many cities. The Victorians revered their ancestors and found it a suitable way to honor their memories. They sure did put the "rave" in "graveyard"
And we sure have packed the "fun" in our "funeral" procession picnic menu

The flavors you crave have been packed in the basket. We're bringing back some old faves, renamed because we cant be the same ole same old....just like Aunt Martha at every wake.

Also returning for the summer! 🍋☀️
Our Lament-Ades have been unearthed and reanimated for the season. You can get them plain jane or full of fruity goodness and as Freshly Squeezed as our souls

Just a couple quick notes for the creeps n ghouls who follow along closely:

New Menu drops SOON (like, tomorrow). I WILL be following up with the question + answer sesh on our stories...thank you SO much to everyone who participated. It was a super busy and incredible weekend and then... I caught a nasty bug thats put me far behind schedule for today. I am taking today to rest and hoping this crud passes quickly🤞

Its days like today that serve to remind me that the people you choose to surround yourself with make all the difference in your success.

This woman has been such an incredible inspiration and source of support for me. She was there from the very beginning when I launched the original Apollo Wheel Good Wednesday in 2020, and we became fast friends. She was also the very first person I reached out to when I was exploring the idea of The Coffin Bean and without a second of hesitation she gave me all the encouragement, resources, and the tea on the mobile food industry. She and her husband Julio are truly one of a kind. Theyre real, theyre honest, and they're generous to a fault. Qualities I can only hope to emulate as we keep the Crypt crew moving forward.

Michele Michele's Mobile Meals is retiring at the end of this season. I certainly will miss her "old lady burgers" because theyre fuggin delicious 😋 but Im going to miss her even more. The field is getting crowded with new up and coming businesses, but if you prefer tried and true old school burgers and some of the best fries everrrrr, be sure to seek her out this season. I hope we get to set up again together soon. But if we dont, I know we'll be seeing each other again.
