WE WILL BE CLOSED THIS WEEK.
WE WILL OPEN AGAIN- OCTOBER 22-24.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We realize it’s last minute and I hesitated making this decision but after chatting with a few people I was reminded I am 64 years old and being gifted an extra few days at my favorite place - the lake house (in the fall) - is an opportunity I shouldn’t pass up.
Hoping this won’t cause a huge inconvenience to many and I apologize for any of those it does. My personal advice is if you have the opportunity to do or be with people you love, in places you love - PLEASE DO IT! Life is too short!

Just a few more things that make me happy.
* Two incredibly wonderful and very cool pumpkins arrived on my Bakery Porch and greeted me this morning which made me happy on a pretty extreme level - THANK YOU Quittie Hollow Custom Products (contact them if you need a personalized pumpkin for your fall decorating).
* I found a fantastic Bakery Gnome in a very cool shop while hanging in Lancaster with my daughter, Lani, after a fitting for her wedding gown.
* We had a wonderful day at the Bakery seeing some of our regulars, meeting new ones, and hanging with my cohort, Heather Kelley
*We dropped off a pan of baked goods to Amy & Bo Setlock at LVC Homecoming, and was handed a glass of w**e - that’s a win/win for everyone!
* Last, but not least, the amazing colors of Autumn AND the cooler temperatures make me sooo happy : )
As my dad used to say, it’s another good day!

In case you are out and about doing some shopping maybe you can grab a few of these things the Lebanon Rescue Mission is in need of. We can be a drop off also if you need someone to drop them off at the Rescue Mission for you.

Sometimes, the little things mean a lot. And yes, toilet paper definitely counts! 🧻🧻

We’re in need of body wash, shampoo, deodorant and toilet paper for the men staying at the Lebanon Rescue Mission.

These everyday essentials help our guests feel cared for and remind them that they matter. Everyone deserves the opportunity to take a shower, use some deodorant and have the basics they need with dignity.

Early morning Bakery time I have been listening to Anderson Cooper’s Podcast - All There Is. It’s a podcast about grief. He has guests on who have experienced loss, including his own. It has helped me understand everyone grieves differently and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
I have more good days than bad but I also know grief will forever be part of my life because I’ve lost people I love.
I miss my Tom. I used to write to him often in the early years after we met. As time moved on I slowed down my writings to him, and then for some reason I stopped. I became complacent.
I recently opened a book I made filled with photos of Tom and I and inside was a copy of every writing I had emailed to him. The ones from the beginning, when it was messy. The ones asking what his plans were for us. The ones about how in love I am with him. The ones that shared how he saved me and how we saved each other. He saved them all.
So I’ve decided I’m going to write to him again. I think it will help me with my grief. They will be love letters. They will include things I thought I would have time to say. The things I loved about us. The things I’m sorry I didn’t say or do. I’m going to leave them on his favorite recliner where I can still see him looking at me and smiling. I’m hoping it will help my heart heal and be a reminder to me how lucky I am that he was mine and I am his. B+T=1 forever and ever! Love you TP!
For any and all of you who are grieving the loss of people you love, I hope you find a space that brings you some kind of peace. I hope there are places you can go where you can feel the love they brought to your life. We are all forever changed after loss. It begins a very individual and personal journey to find a way to hold on to those we love and miss and continue living. It’s a journey, one filled with tears and pain, but also one of the beauty they shared while they were here with us. Hugs to any and all of you, especially on the hard days.
