🌶️ A little sweet. A little heat. A whole lot of Mango con Fuego. 🥭🔥

Watch Kara shake up one of our favorites from our Mixologist’s Table: Mango con Fuego, made with El Jimador tequila, habanero, mango nectar, fresh lime juice, agave, chamoy and a Tajín rim.

If you like your cocktails tropical with a kick, this one has your name all over it.

And since it’s Wednesday, bring a friend and make a night of it. Bottles of wine are half price with any small plate tonight, too. 🍷

There’s a lot of history behind these walls. ❤️

Long before us, 69 West Street was already part of the story of downtown Annapolis.

This building we call home dates back to around 1913, and over the years it has been a shoe store, finance company, Western Union, law office, Deli Depot, Kyma, and finally, in 2009, Level.

We found these old photos showing some of the different lives our building has lived, and we couldn’t resist sharing them.

It’s pretty amazing to think about all the people who have walked through these doors over the last century. We’re proud to be a chapter in the story. ❤️

Do you remember any of the businesses that were here before Level? Tell us in the comments! And if you have an old photo of West Street, we’d LOVE to see them.

Rainy Saturday? We can still make it a lovely day. ☔🍸

A few of your Level favorites are making their way up and down our staircase and Lexi’s sharing her fave.

Her pick? The Rye Baby 🥃

Now the important question: Which Level cocktail are YOU grabbing tonight?

Come escape the rain, grab a cocktail and a few small plates, and spend your Saturday with us.

Good afternoon everyone,

My heart is full right now!

When I wrote the post concerning parking yesterday, I was nervous. I had no idea what to expect.

In just 24-hours our Change.org petition has reached over 1500 signatures and we have gained nearly 600 followers in the Annapolis Parking Alliance FB group.

Thank you for the flood of supportive comments, emails, DMs and reposts. Thank you for sharing your parking experiences and frustrations. We hear you.

I am sharing all of the links again below in case you missed them. We are organizing a community forum for Sept to get additional input from you all via the APA FB group, so please join for updated. Stay tuned!

Much love!
Jennifer

Hello, this is Jennifer Sowers. My husband, Eric, and I have owned Level for nearly nine years. In that time, our staff, guests, neighbors, and this community have become such an important part of our lives.

Small business owners don't typically speak publicly about how hard things can be. Which is probably why it has taken me nine attempts to write this post.

We keep showing up. We make payroll. We take care of our employees. We welcome our guests with a smile. We try to figure out how to survive the slow weeks and absorb the rising costs. And then we come back the next day and do it all over again.

Along the way, we revel in the times that we get to hear guests laugh with family and friends together at one of our tables and when we clear plates from a table that appear to have been licked clean from a dish that we've created. We laugh with our staff members over trivial things and swell with pride as they move on to new adventures. These are the moments that make it all worthwhile.

We know some hardship comes with owning a business. But it is incredibly difficult to accept the added burden of a parking program that makes it harder and more expensive for people to come visit us or even work at our restaurants and shops.

It has been heartbreaking to watch what is happening to small businesses in downtown Annapolis. Seeing so many closing their doors is jarring. Unfortunately, by the time they have announced on social media that they are closing, it is too late.

From multiple confusing apps and increased fees, to aggressive enforcement and unwarranted citations, we have watched helplessly as our foot traffic has slowly declined over the past three years.

Just so we are clear, I'm not ready to write a goodbye post for Level. I will continue to fight for my business, staff and guests.

Individual businesses and residents posting on social media, emailing the city and testifying at city council meetings just has not been effective. The only way forward is if constituents stand with local businesses in mass and we are all willing to work with the City to find solutions that are fair and sustainable for everyone.

Level is proud to stand with so many other brave businesses that have added their names to the growing list supporting parking reform in downtown.

How can you help?

Add your voice to ours. We aren't asking you to save just one business. We're asking you to help protect the downtown Annapolis we all love!

Thank you for your continued support.

Much love,
Jennifer, Eric and the entire Level Team

🌱 What makes a great vegan dish? Start with ingredients that are actually worth getting excited about.

Chef Carlo takes you into the kitchen to show you how we make our Vegan Papas Salsicia.

We grill it until beautifully browned, then serve it with smashed red potatoes, peppers & onions tossed in Carol's "world famous" champagne-balsamic vinaigrette.

👋 Say hi to Corbin!

Corbin is one of the newest faces in our kitchen, and he’s already doing a great job. We’re happy to have him as part of the Level crew!

He’s showing off one of our favorites: Hot Honey Glazed Lamb Chops 🔥🍯

Seared lamb chops with a hot honey glaze, served with garlic mashed potatoes, edamame & chard succotash, and crispy onions. Sweet, savory, a little spicy and a very good reason to join us for Sunday dinner.

Come give Corbin a warm welcome and let the kitchen handle dinner tonight. ❤️
