Delivery Driver to Franchise Owner

Welcome to our Northern Lights Pizza -Ankeny page. We are Rob and Shelly Taylor and that’s my mom Toni on the far right. She’s very proud of us. My career with Northern Lights Pizza began in 2008 as a delivery driver for the Westown Parkway location in West Des Moines. In 2014 my wife was told if she wanted to keep her job at CenturyLink she’d have to leave Iowa. We didn’t want to leave Iowa. We love Iowa! So when the opportunity to purchase the Ankeny franchise presented itself in 2014 we jumped on it.

The Ankeny location was in rapid decline from the previous ownership. We had our work cut out for us. The reputation of our location had been severely tarnished with poor customer service and pizza not living up to Northern Lights standards. We gave away pizzas those first few months to customers who were willing to give our location another chance after being treated poorly from the previous owner.

Today, four years later we have built our sales back up significantly and are investing those profits in equipment such as new ovens and refrigeration appliances. We have earned the trust of our wonderful customers in Ankeny who know they will get a quality pizza loaded with the freshest ingredients and delivered in a timely fashion, and if we screw up we will make it right. Give us a try! You’ll be glad you did.
