Rick and Bill are on the ROAD. Hungry for Mexican food and found this delightful place. The standard salsa was okay, asked for something hotter and boy, did I get it. Maybe the best flavored salsa I’ve had in a restaurant.
And they have MENUDO with honeycomb tripe (the good kind!)
This place is a keeper

One of Rick’s favorite restaurants. Located at the Brookstone Country Club they offer southern cuisine as well as burgers and dogs for golfers.
The fried chicken is the best I’ve had. The ribs were tender and moist, The greens were off the hook today, and the Brussels sprouts are fantastic. Great service and Esther does some great cooking.

Great new restaurant for our breakfast The Townville Cafe. Pictured here is the country fried steak and gravy with biscuit and grits, which were so flavorful. They also have fried bologna on the menu. That’ll be my next visit. Madeline had a breakfast sandwich with Friday and ham which came out perfectly cooked.
This is right off exit 11 and it’s an easy drive from our house  madeline had a hamburger the first time we were here and she liked it.

We were moving our son to his new home in Piedmont,SC and stopped at Buffalo Cornbread for lunch and what a great decision!

Great smoked chicken, the best I’ve had in quite a while
Their trio with brisket ribs and chicken was declared good, the ribs were a bit tough ,

EXCELLENT service, in fact the servers made us feel si welcomed. All restaurants should have servers like this!

Starr SC We had this place on our list of restaurants to review, Madeline and I came on the whim to try something different. Starr is about 15 miles southeast of Anderson.

It’s a lovely bed-and-breakfast very nice people. Sadly, the food was disappointing at best. I had a country fried steak, which is very thick, but cool. Field peas, which some people know as black-eyed peas, and banana pudding.

Unfortunately, my lunch was on the cold side or more like they have it all prepared in the back and are filling plates as they came out very quickly. The banana pudding was sweet and may be the best thing there other than the biscuit which was really good.
We won’t be reviewing this one and I give it a two. If we are in Starr again, we might give it another try because everyone deserves a second try, but sadly not worth a drive like Indigenous Underground is. A lovely property doesn’t mean great food if the food was hot, it would’ve been a three easily.

We visited yesterday on a recommendation by Chef Richard Farr of Restaurant 151 at The Bleckley, he was right. So many good items to choose from. The sushi tuna burger with a sushi rice bun was fabulous. Their kimchi was spectacular. And the POKE BOWL WAS AWESOME. We will put this on the list! Go!
