This stunner is a Hen coop with a 10’x14’ run. It’ll be comfortable for up to ten chickens. They’ll have a warm, secure shelter and plenty of space to scratch and run about while staying protected from rain and snow. ⛄️ Eggs can be collected with minimal disturbance through the magnetic-latching doors on the outside of the coop. 🐓🥚 Not to mention… we think it looks pretty good. 😉

Now here's someone we weren't expecting to see in the yard! 🤯

A very injured juvenile bald eagle was grounded on the property earlier this week. Check out those intimidating talons and sharp beak! NEVER attempt to capture or otherwise interfere with a wild bald eagle, injured or not. 🙅
We took the proper steps to get this eagle the care it needed: before doing anything else, calling the Alaska WildBird Rehabilitation Center to report an injured eagle and get next steps. 📱 In this case, we were instructed on how to safely contain the eagle so that it was safe and ready for transport once a member of the wild bird rehab center could arrive. Jim and Aidan were able to get the eagle into a spare kennel safely - for both the bird and themselves. 🫣😮‍💨 We would certainly never do this without explicit instruction from experts.
A little while later a volunteer from the center was able to stop by and pick up the bird to transport to their facility. 🦅🏥
We're glad the eagle was able to get to the right people who can give it the care it needs. Due to the extent of the injury, we truly aren't sure if the eagle will manage to recover, but we're confident it has the best chance possible now.
Thanks to the great crew at the Houston Wild Bird Center for their work to protect and care for these incredible animals! ✨

WHEW! That's quite a beast. Check out this massive 12' x 20' run we completed this week. Don't lose a ball in there or you might find some birds inventing chicken sports with all that space! ⚽🐓🏈🐓🏀

🤔💭 You may wonder why most of our chicken coops have two doors: a chicken door and a man door. 🚪

The thing is, if they had four doors, they would no longer be chicken coops. They would be chicken sedans... 🐓🚗
