Happy First Friday! Check out all the cool things happening at the Museum tonight, and make sure to save some time to enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles at MUSE x Crush Bistro while you're here.

Make plans for a fun-filled First Friday at the Anchorage Museum. On Friday, Sept. 4, from 6–9 p.m., enjoy free admission and an evening of galleries, hands-on creativity and quick trips through space. Explore four floors of exhibitions, get curious in the Discovery Center, make something in the Art Lab and journey through the night sky in the Thomas Planetarium.

First Friday Food on the Lawn: Won’t You Be My Neighbor? 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Grab a bite from local food trucks, then join artist Duke Russell and community hosts for a casual “dinner party” on the Museum lawn.

ArtLab: Free Create 6–8 p.m.
Design your own unique bookmark and create alongside the community in a fun, judgment-free space. Open to all ages; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Thomas Planetarium: Rapid Space Shorts 6:30, 7, 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m.
These quick planetarium experiences range from constellation tours of the night sky and cruising around the solar system to learning about light and the aurora borealis. Free; ticket required and available at the front desk.

Auditorium: A Field Guide to More-Than-Human Governance with Jonathon Keats 6:30 p.m.
Philosopher Jonathon Keats reads from his book, A Field Guide to More-Than-Human Governance. Keats considers the population structures and behaviors of nonhuman communities, from bacterial colonies to dolphin pods.

Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center: Gallery Talks 6:30, 7, and 7:30 p.m.
Learn about Tsimshian and Haida clothing and ornamentation, Tlingit and Athabascan cultural belongings, and Unangax̂ and Sugpiaq cultural belongings.
