FREEDOM FAM!! VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER!!

I (Carrie) am about to get on a plane as I type this but that means I won't be home until later tonight. Tucker is tagging out for a much needed rest before the school year begins and I'm tagging in!

With that said, we are CLOSED tomorrow and Saturday in order for Tucker to have a little vacation and for me to get settled back in before jumping back into ministry at the shop.

I can never express our gratitude to those of you who continue to support us. We'll see ya Monday!!

Hey, hey, Freedom Fam! THE TIME HAS COME!!!

EEKKKKKKK! Tyson and I will be in Guatemala from June 27th through July 16th serving alongside our ministry partners, checking on projects, and continuing the work God has called us to.

The good news? Freedom Café will remain OPEN while we're away! BUT, to keep Tucker, staff and volunteers from burnout we will, temporarily, have shorter shop hours. We REALLY appreciate you being patient with us during this time.

☕ Monday–Friday: 6:30am–2:30pm
☕ Saturday: 8:00am–12:00pm
☕ Sunday: Closed

To help our team serve everyone well while we're away, all delivery orders should be submitted by 8:40am Monday-Friday during this time.

It's Tuesday, July 14th, and that means it is already almost time to leave our beloved Guatemala. Bittersweet for sure BUT we do have some exciting news brewing!

We really want to thank you all for being patient with us during this time. Freedom Café is much than a coffee shop. We are a family founded ministry but this is more than just sharing the love, hope and freedom of Jesus Christ through coffee and bagels. This season looks like growth. Growth for the ministry, yes, but also for each of us individually and as a family.

Hola from Guatemala!

We heard it has been rainy back home today in Chambers County so I thought I would share something that made us smile on our drive today!

We left home around 6am your time to take a long journey into Qhiché to install a stove for a pastor friend of ours.

We have already crossed and climbed on the top of a mountains and we aren't there just yet. The beauty is breath taking.

Tucker will be at the shop until 2:30pm today so lift the corners of your mouth and grab a coffee or energy drink to perk you right up on this dreary day!

Of course we have our sourdough discard muffins 🫐 and then, we also have more gluten free cookies 🍪 , bunt cakes 🧁 , and our brownies 😋. It's Wednesday, July 8th! we are super grateful for the continued work that is being done through the shop while Tyson and I work in Guatemala!

I hope you have seen the last two days of work being done here because you are a part of the reason we can are impacting lives here - for that, we are grateful!

7 more stoves today equal 13 down and 7 more to go!

Today was such a beautiful day! Rebeca and her daughters treated us to caldo after installing their stoves! Four families had been sharing one open fire stove but now they all have their own rocket stoves that will effectively remove the toxic smoke from their homes!

Doña Rebeca asked us to thank you all for supporting this mission to help supply these life saving stoves for families in Guatemala. So, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Tucker and the rest of our Freedom Crew have been holding down the fort while we have been away and I know they have been doing a great job!

While we are down here drinking fresh Coca in the villages, I want to know- who has tried the crazy Liberty Latte?! That was seriously so much fun for us to create!!

Don't forget that while we are short staffed, Tucker will be closing the shop at 2:30pm Mon-Fri and 12pm on Saturdays.

We love and appreciate you all! We can't do what we do without all of you!

It's Monday evening, June 29th. Tucker and our Freedom Crew are taking care of business while Tyson and I are in Guatemala!

Thanks to Tricia, one of our amazing volunteers, we have clean ingredient, low carb, high protein GF lasagna, AND chicken salad bento boxes in the cooler! Regular, SIlly DIlly, Fancy Schmancy and Buffalo.

Tomorrow, we will also have GF Waffle Dippers, Overnight Oats, blueberry and chocolate sourdough muffins from Daily Bread Co., a variety of GF desserts from Lil Bakes better bagels and a variety of pre packaged, clean ingredient snacky snacks.

✈️Well, Chambers County, your and I are at the United gate awaiting our sky bird headed for Guatemala.

🫶🏼Between these guys pictured, our oldest and his fam, Krysta and a crew of framily on the ready - you guys are going to be well taken care of!

💪🏻Please be patient with our sweet motley crew but also keep 'em busy!

⏰For our deliveries, please get those orders in no later than 8:40am or pre arrange a delivery so that we have all hands on deck.

📆Last thing, please keep in mind that we are closing at 2:30pm Mon-Fri and open 8am-12pm on Saturday (closed on July 4th Saturday).

I went to Costco the other day and while I was there I took a photo of the ingredients in their bagels. While I LOVE Costco and many of our clean ingredients are sourced there, I just never felt right about purchasing our baked goods from a commercial source using highly processed ingredients.

I KNEW we needed a great food option but I didn't want to settle - even if it meant it would cost us more to provide our community with cleaner options.

As a naturopathic doctor, it is important to me to use high quality, minimally processed goods. Swipe through the slides to see just a few reasons why we made the choice to partner with local bakers like Kirstie and Nicole!
