YOU GUYS…..we’ve been experimenting in the kitchen with the delicious sourdough bagels from and we think we’re on to something!

You can already get this delicious bagel with your choice of cream cheese but this takes it a whole ‘nother level!

Yay or Nay to a hearty, Better Bites Bagel stuffed with all the goodness and adorned with a “specialy” sauce hand crafted specifically for Freedom Café?! How ‘bout we add chips and a drinks too?!

Freedom Fest 2026 has come and gone!! We are equally exhausted AND overwhelmed with gratitude!

Before we get to this week's winner, I want to make you aware that tomorrow, Monday, June 1st, is prep day so we will have GF Waffle Dippers, Overnight Oats, blueberry and chocolate sourdough muffins, and a few pre packaged, clean ingredient snacky snacks.

One day last year, a sweet friend asked me a question at the shop that sparked a long conversation, a white board and a messy diagram.

Staring at the squiggly orange lines, arrows and circles, I saw how God has had His hand on us for years and how everything had been connected. She had no idea our history and we both sat there in awe of what God has done. From that moment, I knew I needed to create a way to take you on the journey with us.

Many of you know us as Freedom Café but maybe you don’t know where we came from or where we are going.

If you have 7.5 minutes, we would be so honored if you took a moment to watch.

🎉 NEW BETTER BITES OPTION 🎉

We are SUPER proud to add these clean ingredient sourdough discard muffins to our Better Bites menu! The best part? They are made with wholesome ingredients while ALSO being incredibly DELICIOUS!!

We have teamed up with our sweet friend, through her business Daily Bread Co. We will have fresh drops on Mondays and Thursday and be watching - bagels are coming very soon too!!

Yall don’t know how many times I stared at the muffins and bagels at Costco, pondering whether or not I should buy them to offer because that is what many coffee shops do - it saves time and money to outsource some of the goods which is important in any business but especially for a ministry trying to help support local outreach and a global mission.

Alas, I couldn’t make the jump because I prefer not to use or serve goods made with enriched flour. Why? A few reasons but one main one is that many of us have the MTHFR gene variant (yes, it looks like a curse word but I promise it’s not), and our bodies don’t always respond well to the added synthetic “nutrients”, especially over time.

We were patient even when I didn’t want to be (thanks, , for the encouragement in that) and God answered our prayers!

We are very grateful to be able to support local businesses! Please stop by this week and support Kirstie in her sourdough adventure and while you’re at it, we have several other vendors here whom we love and are honored to share!

Boys ruled this last day of school! Sorry, sister, you were outnumbered today!

Today was the first day I was able to be at the shop this week, as our little man is in the roughest part of his healing from his surgery on Monday.

Special thanks to those who fed us, covered for us and prayed for us. Thanks to Mimi for spending several days to lend a hand and provide healing company for us all.

I want to thank the Duncan Family and The Beginning for providing funds to feed these kids this month. This month we had pizza, homemade chicken alfredo and homemade nachos with my childhood favorite recipe from my momma. Huge thanks to “Aunt Nita” as we call her for making them lemonade twice a week. They LOVE her lemonade!

For all of you who support us, pray for us, lend a hand to us - thank you. We can’t do what we do without all of you.

Our work is not over just because summer is here - now we set our eyes on the final details for Freedom Fest 2026, Guatemala at some point during the summer and planning for next school year.

Thank you for your continued love and support. We love you a latte 🫶🏼

Thank you for the prayers today. Our little buddy had a rough go in recovery with oxygen dropping there for a bit but God heard all of our prayers.

His school year came to an abrupt stop today and the trick will be to keep him low key for the next two weeks. We don’t have bleeding out on our bingo card, fam!

Anyway, thank you all for the love, prayers and support. Please keep it al coming. We can’t do what we do without all of you. 🫶🏼

Happy Sunday evening, Freedom Fam! Tonight, we humbly ask that you extend our family grace in the next few days as this cutey patootey you all know and love has surgery tomorrow.

It should be a simple day surgery but Tyson and I will be unavailable tomorrow late morning and all afternoon.

Tucker and Krysta will be holding down the fort while we tend to Taylor. We do have a few folks on standby to assist in case they need support.

Now - here’s the part that will affect you, our sweet customers - we will not have chicken salad or bakes ready for the first few days this week. Don’t worry, GF Waffle Dippers, overnight oats and other clean ingredient snacky snacks are always on the menu. As expected, our first priority is our son and we will keep you updated in all the ways.

Please keep Taylor, the medical team, us and the Freedom Crew in your prayers. We believe he will be just fine but we need a few days to make sure we get him settled and us back in the swing of things.
