🍽️ Tonight’s special: Tortellini Bolognese! Four-cheese filled tortellini topped with a rich, slow-simmered meat sauce that’s been cooking all day. This one is relatively new for us, but was a huge hit when it debuted a few weeks ago. Served with garlic bread and a side salad. Supplies are limited.

🍸 Rusty’s drink of the week commemorates his recent vacation to Wisconsin cherry country with a Manhattan riff called the Algoma Skyline. Overproof bourbon, sweet vermouth, cherry liqueur, and cherry and orange bitters comprise this strong sipper.

✨ Rusty’s also made a fresh batch of rhubarb syrup for those fans of the Rhubarb Martini!

🍸 Lisa's drink of the week is the Peach Lemon Drop, back by popular demand. Vodka, lemon juice, and Monin peach puree served icy cold and straight up with a sugar rim and a slice of fresh peach.

🥣 Tonight’s special: Red beans and rice!! As many of you know, this was a proposed menu item before we opened, so it’s a dish that has always been near and dear to us, as well as a customer favorite.

We start by using the absolute best red beans in the world, those famous, top grade, New Orleans Camellia beans. And yes, there is a difference. We cook’em up nice and slow in some chicken stock and the Cajun holy trinity, then add in some andouille sausage. Served over rice with cornbread and two strips of streakalean (deep fried bacon). Get it by the bowl, or add a cup to any meal. Supplies are limited.

Out featured dessert this week is our wonderful peanut butter chocolate chip pie!

🐟 Back this week for a limited time, grilled swordfish!

If you’ve never had swordfish this is one of the meatiest fish you’ll ever eat. The texture is firm and steak like, so it holds up beautifully on the grill without falling apart. It’s tender, juicy, and more like a great pork chop or chicken breast than a delicate, flaky fish. Served with two sides and our house made dill tartar sauce which is sooooo good with this fish.

🍽️ Tonight’s special: Fish and chips!! We take 3 filets of wild caught Alaskan cod, hand batter them to order, then deep fry them to a crispy crunch. Served up with fries, hushpuppies and our signature house-made dill tartar sauce. Malt vinegar available upon request, supplies are limited.

They do things a little different up there — its base is brandy rather than whiskey, there’s more muddled fruit, and you pick one of four toppers: “sweet” (Sprite), “sour” (sour mix), “press” (half Sprite and half club soda), or “soda” (club soda).

Well…y’all did it again.

Thank you so much for voting us best in eight Best of Monroe categories. Every single one of these awards means the world to us because they come from the people we serve every day.

When Jamie and I opened these doors a little over six years ago, we simply hoped to build a place where folks could enjoy a good meal, relax, and make a few memories. To see how this community has embraced us and turned our vision into reality is something we will *never* take for granted.

But here’s the BIG truth…

These awards aren’t really about Jamie and me. They’re about an incredible group of people who show up every day and care deeply about what they do. From our servers and bartenders to our hostesses, line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, expos, Nannah holding down the salad station, and an AC repair guy who’s johnny on the spot when I’ve got a house full of warm people in July.

Every one of them has a hand in what happens at The Gemstone and these awards belong to them. They’re the reason people come back, and they’re the reason these awards keep finding their way onto our wall.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for eating with us, supporting us and recommending us to your friends. We couldn’t do this without y’all’s unwavering support and we appreciate you more than you know.
