I can’t believe it’s been two years since we closed the Freedom Cafe in Amherst. I promise you that a week does not go by where I don’t think about our time at Freedom Café.
This morning I received an update about a new work that is happening at the vocationa center that we were instrumental at starting in India. I’ve been wanting to share an update, but when this was sent to me, I couldn’t resist.
Thank you all, freedom workers and drinkers alike. We did a great work those 9 short years.

Welcome to Hope Endures Foundation! Several years ago, our family began a journey that changed our lives forever. For almost two decades now, we have been working with a committed team of Indian leaders who have dedicated their lives to bring freedom to women and children enslaved in the darkness of...

It is time to share an update regarding the Freedom Cafe. Due to many factors, the Freedom Cafe at UMass will not be reopening. It has been so hard for me to come to this conclusion because the Freedom Cafe has been so meaningful for so many people. It is hard to look back and realize how precious of a moment we were in together.

I want to thank all of you who made it happen. When I set off on this ambitious project, I knew I could do it because so many student jumped at the opportunity to get involved. You all have made a lasting mark on me.

However, the Freedom Cafe is not over. All of our equipment has been donated to the Freedom Cafe in Durham. It turns out that they just signed a contract for a new space on main street, and were in need of all the equipment, chairs and tables to be able to move in. Not only do they have the same passion to end human trafficking, but at least in these early years, their space will have the striking resemblance of our cherished space.

Over the next couple months, I am going to be putting together some presentation of what we have accomplished together. There will also be a section of freedomcafe.org that will be a memory of what we have done together.

Thank you All!
