Waffle Season Continues! 🧇 Last time, we talked about how the ancient Greeks created the early ancestor of the waffle. Fast forward to the 1700s, and Dutch settlers helped bring waffles to the New World, where they would eventually become a breakfast favorite across America.

It's one of our favorite parts of waffle history, which is why you'll find it right here on our walls! We love sharing the story behind one of the world's most beloved breakfast foods.

Waffle Season calls for the very best, which is why we crafted something extra special. 🧇 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞! It features a red velvet waffle, cream cheese frosting, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and what we call our "touch of goodness" on the side. 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥? 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝?! 🧇 Did you know the history of the waffle goes all the way back to ancient Greece? This is part of the painting Fight Between Carnival and Lent by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Painted in the 1500s, it appears to show one of the early methods used to cook waffles over an open fire.

The ancient Greeks are credited with creating the early ancestor of the waffle by cooking flat, savory cakes called obelios between two hot metal plates attached to long wooden handles.

National Waffle Day is August 24, and we're celebrating all month long! We'll be sharing fun facts, a little waffle history, giveaways, and, of course, plenty of delicious waffles. We hope you'll follow along!

Thanks to everyone who enjoyed one of our Impact Lattes over the last couple of months. Together, we were able to raise more than $1,000 for the Amarillo Children's Home! As a locally owned business, we feel it's important to give back to our community and support the nonprofits working every day to make it a better place for everyone. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one latte at a time. ❤️

From April through June, our friends at Golden Waffle Company featured a rotating "Impact Latte" - with $1 from every latte sold going straight to Amarillo Children's Home.
The result? $1,086 raised and 700+ Impact Lattes enjoyed by our community, one cup at a time. ☕💛
To everyone who ordered one, and to Golden Waffle Company for dreaming up such a simple, delicious way to give back - thank you! Because of you, more children in our community will experience restoration, stability, and hope.

🧇 Waffle Season officially starts today! 🧇 Sure, we celebrate waffles every day around here...but August gives us an extra excuse to have a little fun. Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing the stories behind some of our favorite waffles, a few fun facts about the history of the waffle, giveaways, behind-the-scenes videos, and maybe even a surprise or two.
