First vegetable harvest of the season! I knew my Sweet 100s would ripen first. This variety is a top producer so you may start seeing them pop up in the salad bar soon!

Then I found this Cherry Pepper (at top) while I was rooting around the green beans, which will be ready for picking later this week. Looks like fresh green beans will be on the menu at the restaurant this weekend!

I also have baby cukes starting to show up on my trellis. I'll plan to pickle them again this year for our housemade dill pickles.

I don't have a lot of time to tend to my garden but I am slowly expanding it. I hope to add another couple of beds and an arch trellis this year for melons next season but my main goal is to put up a better fence to keep our yard birds out for good.

I'm going to be brutal (unpleasantly accurate) here because I just saw another small business I admire close their doors...

I'm going to be brutal (unpleasantly accurate) here because I just saw another small business I admire close their doors due to lack of community support.

When a small local business announces they are closing, it's too late to be a hero. Where were you when they needed you?

Step up now and support those who chose to bring their needed services to your community. I understand that they may not be what YOU need but they have risked everything to start their dream. Even if you never step foot into their business you should encourage others to do so.

Getting everything ready for tomorrow at the Decatur Livestock Market. Breakfast is 7:30-10:30 and lunch 10:30-3!

Another fun memory! This was in 2020 out in east Texas (I think it was on Lake O' the Pines). It was HOT & HUMID & miserable but Jimmy won 1st in the Hot Dog ancillary and 8th in Ribeye Steak out of 51 competitors. I had to take this at night at our rental after he changed from a sweat-soaked T.

There is ONE Steak Bites GrabNGo and FIVE Pork Tenderloin GrabNGos. These are frozen and are reduced to $10 each! Nutritious and hearty meals. We have such limited cooler and freezer space and I need my freezer back!

And don't forget about the FREE homemade Vanilla Bean soft-serve ice cream!

We are LOW on burger balls and expect to sell out early today so get here soon if you want one. Remember we can only make a limited number based on the trim we get from our briskets and we had a heavy burger day yesterday.

We have a full BBQ menu otherwise.
