Gordon Street Tavern Good Friends, Good Food and Good Spirits! One of Alvin's eldest relics, over 100 years of history lie within the walls of the Gordon Street Tavern.

Once a main intersection for the hustle and bustle of the tiny town deemed Alvin, Texas - Circa 1881. It was a stopping post for migrants and traders alike, looking to inherit some of the wealth that this lush town was known for. Teaming with Horse drawn buggies that lined it's old dirt roads, it was nearly destroyed by a hung economy as a result of the 1924 December Blizzard. It is now a blooming establishment re-birthed around culture, magnitude and flavor. We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere while indulging in one of our acclaimed specialty drinks, a deliciously silky stout or sink your teeth into one of our world famous burgers or sandwiches. For the daring at heart, the Gordon Street Tavern offers to all and any, who dare to walk on the wild side.

An apple c***r New York sour. Camille put this recipe in our hands and it tastes as good as it looks! The c***r and the maple syrup really round out the fall flavors in this cocktail and make it unique to a regular wh***ey sour.

The Last Word

Gunpowder Irish gin, Green Chartreuse, Luxardo maraschino liqueur, fresh lime juice

The last word first appears in history at the Detroit Athletic Club in the 1910's, right around the time that the Tavern's building was constructed! Its popularity was reinvigorated during the cocktail renaissance of the 2000's by Murray Stenson of the Zig Zag Cafe in Seattle. The recipe calls for equal parts of all 4 ingredients, which doesn't make much sense on paper but creates a deliciously complex cocktail. This recipe build has gone on to inspire other popular modern cocktails like the Paper Plane!
