Casey is on the autism spectrum and her dream has been to have a place where she can cook and bake tasty treats to share with others!

Due to a medical issue, Casey’s Café regrettably will be closed for the next few weeks, starting August 20th. We will have our regular hours this week, open Thursday and Friday from 7am to 12:30 pm. We anticipate reopening for special orders only around September 7th and reopening the café around September 28th.
Stop by to say hi to Casey this week, hope to see you soon!

We will be closing at 11am on Thursday this week so that Casey and Carol can help out at the Becky Sheetz Memorial Golf Tournament (https://birdease.com/BeckySheetzMemorial) at Park Hills Country Club. The tournament benefits The Arc of Blair County and Special Olympics. We’ll have regular hours on Friday from 7am to 12:30pm. Hope to see you soon and be sure to say Hi to Casey and Carol at Park Hills on Thursday!

Casey’s Café was well represented at the 18th Annual Strike Back at Autism Bowling Bash held on July 24th (the 4th Friday every year) at the Holiday Bowl in Altoona. This is a great event that is raising a large amount of money, with proceeds benefiting local charities that align with their goals. Casey and Jason joined many of their friends from Special Olympics as part of three teams in this year’s event, and Casey’s Café provided a gift basket of goodies as a donation for their ticket raffle.
We met some new friends at the event and even received a very generous donation from Derek and Dawn Ziegler, who are cousins of one of the bowlers in our group. Our fundraising efforts continue, and every grant and donation certainly helps towards our goal. Please stop in for some goodies and see what we’re about!

Two of the actors from the Penguin Project at Altoona Community Theatre’s production of Shrek Jr. stopped by Casey’s Café on Friday. Carson Frank, who is playing Shrek, and Adam Savino, who is playing Papa Bear, stopped by for some goodies with Casey, who is playing Princess Fiona. Show dates are August 8th and 9th at 2pm at the Altoona Area High School, with tickets available on-line at altoonaasd.booktix.com or at the door.
We’re open Thursday and Friday this week from 7am to 12:30pm for your summertime goodies! Hope to see you soon.
