I’ve been making cakes for Sherice(just realized she’s my new neighbor) for a few years now! Her son just turned 30 and she ordered him the family favorite, Luscious Lemon with lemon curd and my signature not too sweet classic vanilla bettercream but in a “gardening” theme which I’ll always say yes to! 🤣🤣🤣 So on this episode of Is It Cake? I made a couple graffiti images and had to come up with a phrase that rhymed with 30. I don’t actually know if he rides clean or dirty so don’t come for me🤣 I did my thang with the cookie crumb coated fondant “nugs” and leaf sprinkles! My other favorite thing is making things look like they’re on fire so the cherry on the “J” is really makin me smile! Her son was coming in town for the celebration but was held up with car trouble. We weren’t sure if he’d make it but he did and he got to see and eat his cake! Thank goodness cuz I woulda driven it to him myself! Can’t trust Sherice or her hubby to not eat it🤣 She sent me a pic when he got there so I know she didn’t tear into it!🤣 Happy birthday Darue🥳🎉! Glad you made it out💜

Madison has leveled up to Sweet-E’s Regular status🙌🏽🤣 She just graduated with her associates and wanted a cake for herself to celebrate with her family after she walked🥰 She wanted all the sassy girly things and asked for the phrase “One Degree Hotter” to be on it! I thought that was so clever so I found a topper to go with it! I love that she tries different flavors every time she orders. This time she got a petite 3 layer 6” luscious lemon cake with my lemon curd filling and signature classic vanilla bettercream🤤 I tried out a fondant ruffle mold I just got and I love how it came out! I piped everything else but that darn ruffle makes my hand cramp🤣 The cap is felt, the girl is paper, the bow is ribbon and the M is acrylic so she gets to keep all of that! Sometimes things just can’t be edible🤷🏾‍♀️ She loved it! I loved it too and I hope she had the best day ever!!💜🎓 Congratulations Madison!

Emma is relatively new to Sweet-E’s with this being her second order. Her son Malakai(also my uncles name) turned 8 and wanted a Stranger Things theme! I’m gonna have to start an album of cakes with all the requests I’m getting for ST! We did a batch of confetti cupcakes with my signature not too sweet classic vanilla bettercream. Since I’ve been making them recently, I have an abundance of images and ideas! Emma wanted an 8 made out of confetti cupcakes with my signature not too sweet classic vanilla bettercream so that’s what she got! She had him with her when she came to pickup so I got to meet him and wish him a happy birthday! His sweet face LIT UP when he saw the cuppies! Best feeling EVER! I’ve been waiting to post this to find old pics of me and my bestie Lisa but then I remembered that it’s not about us right now🙄🤣 It’s about her hubby Charlie who turned the big 50 in April! He loves his family and his bike so she decided that would be the theme for this milestone birthday party! I found some ecards and threw those in with the pics and the image I made🥰 She says he LOVES my cuppies so I was excited to do this for him! There’s something I did that I will never let them live down! I’ll bring it up every time I see them and I’ll keep doing it! Story time! Back in 1996 I was 16 & Lisa was 19😳 I bought the coolest stuff from Charlie at a thrift store who was super awesome! I dealt with him for a while getting furniture for a new place. Then I ended up getting my first job at Michael’s craft store…Lisa was my “key holder” and we instantly fell in friend love and haven’t fought or even had a disagreement in 30 years! She(then engaged to NOT Charlie) told me about the love of her life she lost! WHY WAS IT MY CHARLIE FROM THE STORE?! I went back to the store, told him I knew & adored her and she wasn’t happy and he had to stop her from marrying this other guy who was awful! I gave him her number and he called her!! Well, I spoke at their wedding of course and I’ll ALWAYS be THEIR BESTEST FRIEND and the reason their children exist!!🤣🤣🤣Anyway! Happiest of birthdays to you C!! Can’t love yall enough! 🥳🎉💜

Eleanor’s “First Rodeo” was last year! Now she’s doing an Oh Two-dles theme!! Carrie is the sister of Sweet-E’s regular Catherine but after this order and what she said to me, she’s now a regular🤣 As you can imagine, my responses to messages have been delayed with the move so we were late nailing down the deets of her order. I told her I understood if she found someone else to make the cake and she said “I could never cheat on you!”😮🥰 So I added her to my busy triple play Saturday! She got a 3 layer 8” red velvet cake with my signature not too sweet classic vanilla bettercream! I don’t know about you but Amazon has been really been slacking on the delivery times/dates lately. Now they’ve got me ordering multiple things just to see when/if it’ll get to me. This was the topper that actually made it to me so this was the one I used🤣The ears and bow are part of it and aren’t edible. I printed out a Minnie for the back of the cake because I hate to waste a surface🤣As I said, I didn’t have my photo studio set up yet so I had to get box shots on the way out the door with the cake! Please forgive the terrible pics. I got to wish her a happy birthday in person when I delivered her cake which is always awesome! I sincerely appreciate you coming back Carrie and look forward to your next order!

Destini’s middle kiddo graduated high school!!! 🥹 I’m so proud of Adam for making it to this milestone!! Des asked for her special chipless cookie cake along with a regular one and 2 doz cuppies of my choosing. Adam loves brownies and since I didn’t have a chance to try out a recipe for him, I made a doz chocolate cuppies with fudge n crumble and a doz confetti with my signature classic vanilla bettercream. I used pics she’s sent me over the years and the one of his gown she just sent me that I loved. This was my first real weekend back from the “break” and I booked 3 orders all for Saturday🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 All I’ve done is work on the house which means I somehow did these 3 orders in 24 hours😳 Normally I take about a week and space it out. Crazy! Anyway, pickups are coming with a tour of the house if I have time🤣 But I did not have the time or proper setup for my usual cake pictures this weekend(this was actually 3 weeks ago, not a few days ago🤣😳)so I asked Des to take some for me which she always does anyway and I’m forever grateful. She said the party went well and we’re still in shock at how time has flown🥹 Congrats Adam🤗🎓Love yall!💜

Lexi is another regular I’m happy to take orders from ESPECIALLY when it’s for her daughter for the first time!! I’ve been making her boys cakes for a while now but Josie is the newest member of the family so she’s tickled pink to finally have another girl in the house💞 ‘Girls just wanna be One’ is the theme for this petite 3 layer 6” classic vanilla cake with matching bettercream. I wanted a bit more ruffle and shells for this girly cake so I piped more on top than I usually do and unfortunately for me, I love it and might have to start doing it like this more often🤣 I wanted to use ribbon bows but couldn’t find them in the mess so it was fondant to the rescue! It’s rare that I don’t have to ‘PIVOT!’ during the decorating process. I’m so grateful to have the inventory to make it possible! Thank you for coming back time and time again Lexi! Hope Josie had a Happy Birthday🎉🥳and you got some much needed rest!

Keeping with tradition, Allie(Neighbor Donna’s great grand) and Isaiah have the same birthday so I have to make her a cake too🤷🏾‍♀️ I feel like I say that a lot but I have A LOT of regulars🤦🏾‍♀️I couldn’t stop baking even if I wanted to! Anyway, Allie loves dinosaurs as much as Isaiah does so she WILL NOT say anything other than that!🤣 Her mom Thea sent me the party invite they made together and I immediately knew that would BE the cake! Since they made it on Canva I was able to edit it! AS usual, Isaiah contributed to her cake decor(whether he knows it or not😳)with a glittery Christmas ornament🤣 It’s perfect for the cake, really! Hopefully I can replace it by the time the tree goes up. I used my edible glitter ribbon for confetti spirals and space fillers on the cake and was luckily able to find other fun things to throw on top! I use the word “throw” but trust me, everything’s “thrown” with love and intention🤣 This is a 3 layer 6” classic vanilla cake with matching signature bettercream. Allie came with Thea to pick up the cake so I got to see her eyes light up which added to the already awesome day! I saw pics from the party so I know she had a Happy Birthday🥳🎉 Thanks for keeping the tradition going💜

Well, Isaiah’s 10 now and we can’t believe it🥹(This post is almost a month old 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣)We have an ever-changing list of birthday themes a few years out but he chose to switch it up on me the day before his birthday and party at school! Dinosaur bones. Specifically T-Rex🤨Tan, brown, off white. WHAT?!🤣🤣🤣 He gets what he wants but with such sort notice, I had to go with what I had and what I could find in the mess of our house! I barely got a pic of it! He asked for a cookie cake to share with his class. I used ai to make the image that turned out cute to my surprise and had 2 T-Rex skeletons left from past orders😅 to throw on there! He had a few birthday celebrations with the party at school, we went to his fav local arcade for dinner that night then his first non-family sleepover that Friday! It’s been an insane month as we relocate and try to settle in just in time for his birthday 🤣 I took a “break” from baking while we made his rooms a priority to make sure the transition was as enjoyable as possible with this being the first move he remembers🥹 Now that we’ve made it past his birthday, we can focus on the rest of the house and we can’t wait to transform it! Anyway, that’s why I’ve been so quiet but I’m getting back to BAU slowly but surely and I appreciate your patience☺️I know Isaiah had a great birthday in his new room(s)! Happy Birthday to our High Honor Roll all year long 5th grader🎉🥳

Cassie and her crew are Sweet-E’s vets so even during one of the biggest events in my family’s life, I’m making them a cake! When I say I couldn’t do this job without them, I’m SO serious! Tony is retiring from the police department and I can’t thank him enough for his service to our community💙 It’s been a while since she ordered but we ran into each other at the store! She wanted to be an easy order for me so she went simple with chocolate and vanilla cake, no filling, with my traditional classic vanilla bettercream for this 1/2 sheet cake. Normally she goes a lil crazy with her cake orders but this one was more…subtle🤣 I wanted to bake both batters in the same pan so I tried to create a parchment paper wall between them🤣 You shoulda seen me trying to pour both batters with different consistencies while also trying to hold up the wall🙄🤣at whatever o’clock in the morning! I absolutely cannot believe it worked! I printed the flag on icing sheets instead of using fondant for everything. It was supposed to be easier but with my printer lining things up weird, it seemed just as tedious🤣 Still worth it though! I did use black bettercream that’s pretty easy to eat around cuz no one wants black teeth or worse😳 Thank you for letting me make this for y’all! Happy Retirement Tony🥳🎉 Take it easy now😉
