Hi All - Posting to confirm that the shop is still for sale and available. If you (or anybody you know) are interested in a turn-key coffee shop opportunity, please contact me at [email protected]
for more information. As mentioned in my previous post, this is a business & asset sale only - the lease is separate but with very supportive landlords looking for stable business to take on a commercial agreement.

Thank you for your interest and continued support!

Yesterday was a bittersweet one. Bryce has been a fixture at the shop the past few months (and for a bit last summer). She has been invaluable to me, personally, and somebody our regulars look forward to seeing behind the bar. While I’m sad to see her go, I’m also thrilled for her and her husband as they prepare for their first child. Thanks for everything you’ve done here, Bryce, and I know so many of us can’t wait to meet the new little one. 🀍

**FOR SALE**
Hi All - I know this might be unexpected and this decision has come after a lot of thought over the past few months but I'm writing to announce that I'm putting The Black Kettle Coffee Shop (in Alma, CO) business up for sale. While the shop was something I wanted to do for many years, as time has passed since opening, I've gradually realized that it is not the answer for me, personally, and not something I'd like to continue longer-term. There are many other reasons that have led me here and all have been factors in this decision - one which I have not taken lightly.

I'm proud to be a business owner in this community and will never come close to thanking those that have supported me. One of the biggest unknowns for me in starting the shop was the regular, local support I would receive. Nothing has been more satisfying, nor brought me more joy than all of the regulars who frequent the shop - many of you on a daily basis - and that has been the hardest part of this decision. All I can say is THANK YOU. And thank you as well to the local business owners who have been so supportive, going all the way back to before the shop was even open. Your help and advice has been so appreciated and you are a big part of what gives Alma and the surrounding area its great character.

Regarding the sale, it will be an asset and goodwill sale, as the building (16 S. Main Street) is leased. As such, any purchase will also be contingent on agreeing to a lease with the current landlords (a local couple). At this point, I do plan to continue to operate the business until a buyer is confirmed and a proper transition can be planned, especially if the buyer desires to continue running a similar business. I am willing to transfer the name of the business along with all social media and virtual collateral, to the degree possible. I will also share any relevant financial information since opening date with prospective buyers. The shop has been successful and I believe has a lot of future potential, especially if offerings such as grab-and-go food are added (the location was approved as a 0-100 seat restaurant by the state of Colorado, including a commercial kitchen). I also believe that it's been a good proof-of-concept that a specialty coffee shop can work here. If you are interested or know somebody that might be, please send a messge to [email protected]. I will not respond to sale inquiries or other comments on this post - please contact me directly at the email above.
