04/28/2024
It is with humble gratitude and heavy heart that Sunday 4/28/24 was the last day open for El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant after 22 years. While many wanted us to keep going, It was simply time to say goodbye.
It has been an incredible journey for my family. We appreciate the kind words from our customers the last few weeks. You are truly the reason why we succeeded this long. We are humbled and honored to have served you over the years. It’s still amazing to see many of the young kids that were brought into with their parents, to see them now all grown up now and have families of their own.
To mom and dad. What can I say? You laid the foundation for us to succeed. In 2001, you put all your cards into the table. You took the little money we had and took a leap of faith from Chicago to move into a small town in Michigan. Life could have pulled us in many different directions, but I know that faith and God has always intended for us to be right where we are today. We love you. This is a retirement that you both really deserve.
Lastly. Thank you Gratiot! Thank you Alma! As we move on to our next phase in life, I hope you continue to support your local small businesses. As many have heard, there is a new Mexican Restaurant coming in at our location. They will have some great food options and nice ideas coming in. Let’s show them our support as well. There also some great restaurants options in this community.
Thank you again. If you see us around town,
don’t hesitate to say hello. Maybe we will finally share our famous cheese dip recipe 😆
God bless,
