Now the 2025 votes are in and tallied.

We are extremely grateful, blessed, and still humble with the amount of support and blessings..

I am pleased to inform you all Ms Velvets Cafe was in 3 categories this year, and we are 1st place in 2 category and 2nd place in another.

1st best bagels
1st breakfast restaurant
2nd coffee and cafe

Last year(2024) we were nominated, just 2 categories, won both in 1st place

This year (2025) we were nominated in
3 categories, won 1st place for 2 and the one in 2nd.

September 21st 1984, Ruby E Marrero was born in Paterson NJ. 32 years later in February 2017, Joshua Stockman killed her in a hit and run car crash leaving her lifeless body on display for the world to see. She would of been 41 years old now.. 🥹

In observance to the late Ruby Enid Marrero aka Ms Velvet, we will continue to honor her legacy🙌🏽‼️

EVERY SEPTEMBER 21ST AND FEBRUARY 28TH WE WILL BE CLOSED IN RESPECT AND IN LOVING MEMORY TO Ms. Ruby Marrero.

Ruby was killed by a drunk driver in a hit-and-run crash in February 2017 in Allentown. On Monday, Aug. 29, Carlos and their mom opened Ms. Velvet just two blocks from the crash scene, in an effort to keep his sister's name alive.

Ms. Velvet’s is inspired by and in loving memory of Ruby Marrero, a vessel of fun, life, and love."
