On The Grid

Today marks one year since I handed over possession of the On The Grid building to its new owners.
A lot has changed over that time. One of the biggest blessings has been getting to spend more time with my girls. This summer, we enjoyed going out and doing fun things together. We even got season passes to Michigan’s Adventure and made the most of them!
It’s been special to spend time with my girls outside of the restaurant. Of course, they all miss coming in to help from time to time—or at least they miss the extra money they made while working. Rylea often tells me how much she misses it because she used to talk with customers every day. She feels like she’s gotten a little more shy since then, and I know those moments helped her grow.
I don’t miss the long days, but I do miss seeing all of you. I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer. We think of our restaurant family often, and the girls always get excited when they spot familiar faces around town. If you see us, please stop and say hello—we’d love to catch up!

Dear On The Grid customers -

It is with great sadness that I write this. Over the past four and half years I have enjoyed being part of the downtown community. However I have made the decision to close down the restaurant. August 14 will be our last day. The building has been sold and the new owners want to put in their own restaurant. I will miss all of you, I will not miss the 80-100+ hour work weeks lol. There are many of you that I know by name, and even more that I know by what you order. I’ve tried to treat everyone like family. Preparing your food just like I would for my family. This was not an easy decision for me to make. I took several weeks of prayerful consideration before coming to a decision. I am considering opening again at a different location. However, I want to spend some time with my daughters. They are growing like weeds, and I want to enjoy time with them before dad isn’t cool anymore. My hope is that all of our great customers and friends will continue to support us right up until the end. This is a great time to use any gift certificates that you may be holding on too. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
