Hi customers and loyal patrons of Empire Palace. We have some devastating news to share. Last weekend, our owner, Jenny -- whom you all know dearly for the last 17 years -- was robbed in a terrifying crime by two burglars targeting elderly Chinese restaurant owners around Pittsburgh. This has been one of the most traumatic events to happen to the owner at her home where she lived alone for the last 4 years. Aside from stealing her life savings, which insurance will not cover, they also stole away all sense of safety and security from her. This is not how our family imagined to celebrate the holidays or to end this year with. As the news has slowly spread out, numerous customers have started to inquire on how to help.

We have created a fundraiser -- https://www.gofundme.com/f/home-robbed-api-hate-crime-life-savings-gone -- to recoup some of the loss in damages, stolen funds, and destruction to the home. But most importantly, seeking out love and support from the Hopewell and Pittsburgh community to share this post with other friends and to other social channels. This has been one of the most challenging times for our family but most importantly for the owner, whom still has to work everyday at the restaurant.
