BIG things are coming to the UG site 👀

Y’all spoke, I listened 😭 and today I finally sat down and rebuilt basically the entire drinkug online experience.

I fixed the bugs from the original app, cleaned up a ton of stuff that just straight-up did not work 💀, and added a bunch of things I’ve wanted UG to have for a while.

You can now:
- ONLINE ORDERS NOW EARN REWARDS 🥹
-Sign up for UG Rewards without stopping by the Truck
-Log in and stay logged in to your Rewards account
-See your live UG Rewards balance and barcode
-See your visit count + UG Rewards rank (top three always get a special gift at the end of the year 🫶🏿🫶🏿)
-View your recent UG purchase history
-View our most up-to-date schedule
-See where UG is headed next right from the homepage
-Book Underground directly through the site
-Shop UG merch
-And a ton of little bugs/UI issues got cleaned up along the way... navigation, maps, account login, mobile menus, Rewards data, online-order Rewards, and more.

AND NOW INTRODUCING… DRINK DROP. 🎰🥤

UG Rewards members can unlock Drink Drop after an eligible purchase and play once per day for a chance to turn that purchase into even MORE Rewards.

Most drops are:
10–20% BACK

But hidden in there are:

The bigger drops have limits because I would, in fact, like Underground Coffee Shop to remain in business 💀 but somebody has to hit them.

AND YES, I KNOW I JUST CHANGED MY SCHEDULE 😭 but let’s be honest… if we opened at 7:30, I probably would’ve been sold out and making an “early closing” post at 2PM anyway 💀

Okay y’all, I need your vote for tomorrow 👀

I just looked at Tractor Supply’s food truck schedule and realized we’d be double booked, so I’ve got a decision to make:

NGIC: 6:30 AM–12 PM
Tractor Supply: 7–11 AM
Or somewhere completely different…

I’m leaning toward NGIC, but I want to hear from you guys before I make the call! Where do you want Underground tomorrow? 👀

Underground is going through some major changes starting right now all designed to make things a LOT simpler on both of our ends.

As UG has grown, keeping up with event requests across Facebook, email, texts, and conversations has become a lot. 😭 So we're finally putting better systems in place.

This gets your request into my system immediately so I can actually keep track of my calendar and, most importantly, not forget about your event. Please only give me a public event request IF you have the direct contact with the person that runs the events for the venue. Reaching out on my own typically does not result in me getting any responses, so I need to have some kind of direct communication with that person.

We LOVE supporting our communities, but we receive 50+ donation requests every month and have already donated over $3,000 in our first 10 months. As a small business, that means our donation budget is unfortunately pretty slim.

Madison, it’s been a great time 🥹 but unfortunately, Madison Mondays are coming to an end.

This is now our third reinvigoration in Madison, and unfortunately, we’re just not seeing the numbers we need to continue.

And we’ve tried! Different locations, different hours, and yes... we’ve tried opening earlier too. We actually just ran reports across our entire year of sales, and 8 AM is pretty clearly our Goldilocks hour. At 7 AM, our average sales and our lows are roughly half of what we see at 8. At 6 AM, they fall to about a quarter of 7 AM, and 5 AM is essentially nonexistent.

So simply adding more hours unfortunately doesn’t create more sales.

Madison is also slightly more expensive for us to operate in, sales have started slumping as we move into the school year, and there’s the opportunity cost of giving up a Monday that could be spent somewhere else.

I also look beyond sales... Facebook views, likes and shares, online ordering traffic, in-person orders, and even how much activity we see around the truck. Despite being directly on a highway, we’re just not seeing enough interest to make the numbers work.

If you watched my most recent TikTok, this is exactly what I mean when I say you have to run your numbers. You can have customers, you can have a busy period, and you can genuinely love a location, and it still might not make business sense.

I appreciate everyone in Madison who has continued to show up for us. ❤️ This isn't about being upset with anyone; sometimes the numbers just tell you when it's time to move on.

Thank you for giving us another shot and let's enjoy the last Madison Monday on 8/31. 🥹
