One of agriculture's most respected policy analysts is coming to the 2026 NARA Convention, October 20-23, in Tucson AZ!

We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker, Jim Wiesemeyer of Wiesemeyer's Perspectives.

Please note: The Opening General Session has moved to Tuesday, October 20, and Jim will kick off the Convention as our opening keynote speaker. Be sure to plan your travel accordingly so you can join us for this can't-miss session!

From his office near Washington, DC, Jim Wiesemeyer publishes his daily updates, providing readers with the latest information on agricultural, energy, trade and economic policy developments. He also is a participant in Farm Journal’s Agri-Talk radio program, has his own weekly podcast Wiesemeyer’s Perspectives, and is a frequent speaker throughout the United States.

Since 1978, Mr. Wiesemeyer has frequently reported on and interviewed senior government officials, including presidents, as well as USDA Secretaries since Earl Butz. He has traveled extensively in his assignments and is a frequent speaker on farm policy and trade issues.

PRESS RELEASE ALERT: NARA has submitted comments to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) encouraging the adoption of science-based, transparent trade practices as the agency develops a proposed U.S.-China Board of Trade.

The comments outline recommendations to improve transparency in customs testing procedures, establish validated laboratory protocols, create a formal dispute-resolution process when testing results conflict, recognize equivalent industry quality assurance programs, and encourage ongoing technical dialogue between regulators and industry.

China remains the third-largest export market for U.S. rendered products, making fair, predictable, and science-based trade policies critical to maintaining market access and supporting U.S. agricultural exports.
