Hi family and friends,
It's been a long time since I last posted on social media, but in early December, I survived a stroke caused by a blood clot that formed after I got COVID-19 around Thanksgiving. Since then, I have been rehabbing and trying to get back to “normal.” Although my stroke was rather mild, it has affected my vision, left hand (which is my dominant hand), and balance. I'm still trying to relearn how to write and type, but fortunately, physical therapy has been progressing well, and I'm slowly regaining my balance and strength. Every day, I'm seeing improvement, so I'm hopeful that the remaining deficiencies will improve over time.
I have many things to be thankful for, but first and foremost, I am fortunate to have my wife, Mona, by my side throughout this. She has been amazing, and I don't know where I would be without her. My family and friends have also been very instrumental in my rehab, and all of their support, prayers, and visits are greatly appreciated. I have many challenges ahead of me, but one thing is for certain: this situation will not bring me down. It's going to take a lot more than a stroke to stop me.
For those of you who have donated, I can't thank you enough for your support. I have not yet been cleared to return to work by my doctor, so your donations are extremely helpful to us during this difficult time. If you'd like to make a donation, we have a GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/704acb0b
