Dear Basil Leaf Customers,
As some of you may already know, last week we handed the keys to Basil Leaf over to new ownership. After 12 years, this is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made. Thank you to every customer that has stepped foot through our doors, but especially the ones that gave us a chance when we first opened on December 23, 2009. This all started when our mom, Dalena, decided to take a leap of faith and share her love of Vietnamese cooking with the world. There were days we barely made enough to pay our employees. We cannot believe how far we’ve come. A special thank you to customers who stuck with us through the pandemic, for your kindness when we were short staffed and your continued support through take-out. Your support has helped put 3 kids through college, and most importantly, made our parent’s— two Vietnamese immigrants— American Dream come true.

Dear Valued Basil Leaf Customers,

With guidance from the New Mexico Department of Health, we have been cleared to reopen. Employees who have previously tested positive have exceeded the 14 day window from symptom onset with negative retesting. Employees who are still symptomatic will remain in quarantine. With that being said, we will be operating with a smaller crew…thank you in advance for your understanding and support. We have also hired professional sanitation and purged our inventory to cook everything fresh. We look forward to serving you again.

Reopening for regular business hours Sunday, December 26, 2021.

Dear valued Basil Leaf customers:

On December 14, 2021, one of our staff members tested positive for COVID-19. We made the decision to immediately close our operations to allow our entire staff to get tested. We will be closed starting December 15, 2021, with reopening date to be determined. The safety and health of our customers and staff are of our utmost priority. We will also take this time to sanitize according to CDC guidelines, reevaluate what we could improve, and require all staff to re-test with negative results prior to reopening.

Dear Basil Leaf Customers,

In celebration of Memorial Day, we will be closed Sunday, May 30th and Monday, May 31st. We are happy to announce that we will be resuming our regular business hours Wednesday, June 2nd. We will no longer be closed on Wednesdays (only closed Tuesdays) starting June 2nd. We are so grateful to have found new members to join our kitchen team. We appreciate your continued support and patience as our new members adjust into their new roles.

Hello valued customers. We are still struggling to find staff, so we have made the difficult decision to stop online ordering. Dine-in and phone orders will still be up and running. It’s difficult to admit we’ve been struggling to operate to our best standards and we hope this change will allow us to fix that. As always, we are so grateful for your support and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate through these challenges. If you know any one who’s motivated and looking for a job, please send them our way!
