***COVID-19 Online Boot Drive***
As many of you are aware, the current pandemic has taken a toll on just about everyone in this country. It has especially hit hard the volunteer fire companies who do routine fundraising to help provide their services. On this holiday weekend, along with most holiday weekends, you would be able to find us doing our Boot Drive throughout the community. We are unable to be out this weekend for the safety of our volunteers and their families. For those who are interested in donating, please click on the below link where you can select the “Donation” PayPal button at the top of the page. Even though donations throughout the boot drives are relativity small, any amount will help our online based “Boot Drive” since they do add up. We would like thank everyone again for your support over the last few months!
For whoever may need to know.
As always, if you are having a problem feeding yourself or your family, or know someone else who is please message us. We will help!

Those who may have forgotten theirs or do not have one yet, YOU CAN CALL FROM OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT FROM YOUR CAR ( EVEN FOR JUST 1 SLICE), and we will bring it to you curbside.
BUT PLEASE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND WE CANNOT ALLOW ANYONE,WITHOUT A MASK, TO ENTER THE PREMISES FOR ANY REASON AND NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE TIME.
If anyone in the community is having trouble securing a mask, we have a very few ( meaning less than 10 ) that we will try to help out with on 1st come 1st serve basis. We would hate to think anyone of our customers or neighbors are without the mask they will need to take care of their daily needs, like grocery shopping or getting gas etc. If we get access to more we will post on here.

Please stay safe!
In light of Carbon County getting its first confirmed case of COVID 19, we just want to update our community, our customers, our friends, what measures we have already instituted and will be instituting to ensure we are keeping you and ourselves at Gagliano's, safe during this tough time.
1. We early on, asked all our employees, if anyone was afraid, uncomfortable, etc. continuing to work with the public and each other during the Pandemic. Those employees who were, were told without exception, they were free to stop work and that their job would be unconditionally waiting for them, when they felt ready to return.
2. Our active workers were told, that those we found not practicing social distancing on their off hours, exposing themselves, and by extension other employees and you, the public, to a greater risk of exposure, would sadly have to be let go until the Pandemic ends.
3. We have switched to only take-out and delivery service, as mandated.
But we have switched take out to strictly curbside pick-up. This allows us to keep social distancing practiced, in the best of ways, inside our store front. It also keeps you in the safe, familiar environment of your own vehicle.
4. Our delivery drivers all have a box of disposable gloves in their cars. They wear fresh gloves for each new delivery and they dispose of the set, from your delivery, immediately after leaving you, in a plastic bag in their car that goes in our dumpster. The bag is kept away from the driver and never touches any surface in their car, that your take out order touches. Cars interiors surfaces will be wiped and sprayed down regularly during each shift, as are our take out bags. Hands are washed, with anti bacterial soap, each time they re-enter the store.
5. Our front end workers put on fresh gloves for each order they bring to you curbside, each time. Hands are washed with anti bacterial soap after each transaction. Our food prep people wear gloves,at all times, as well. All work stations, food prep stations, and counter surfaces are wiped down every 1/2 hour to hour.
6. We use ONE pen, each shift, for customers to sign credit card slips. It is kept separate and wiped down after each customer use
7.Our front door handles (inside and outside) and soda case handles are wiped down with disinfectant, after each time it is used.
8. We are in the process of getting an infrared, "no contact", body temperature thermometer. They have been hard to get, but ours will arrive Thursday of this week. At that time, each employee will have their temperature checked prior to the start of their shift, in our store front. Anyone over 98.6 will be sent home and will need a physician note to return. Until Thursday, we will be asking our employees to take their temps, at home, prior to work and self report.
9. We are acquiring surgical style face masks, to be used by any employees needing to be less than 6 six feet from the public. They will be here Thursday of this week also. This was a hard call, because we are aware that they are in great need by local healthcare centers. That being the case, we have had some sent to the 3 local facilities of LVHN, Geinsinger, and St Luke's as well. This took a lot of soul searching on our part. Ultimately we felt this solution, met our personal responsibility to our customers and employees, while still heeding the cry for the safety of our incredible health care workers.
We will continue to find any new protections we can think of or suggested, to insure the safety of our workers and our community and customers.
It is a fine line we are trying to walk. We want our employees to work and receive a pay check as long as they are willing and in need. We also want to stay healthy, keep them healthy, and keep you healthy.
FINALLY, WE CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT THE CONTINUED SUPPORT, TO OUR SMALL BUSINESS, BY ALL OF YOU, HAS MEANT TO OURSELVES AND OUR EMPLOYEES. WE ARE HUMBLED BY IT, AND SO VERY GRATEFUL THAT WE GET TO OWN A BUSINESS IN A COMMUNITY LIKE OURS. WE ARE BLESSED.
REMEMBER, IF YOU ARE IN PERSONAL NEED, PLEASE CONTACT US, WE WILL HELP IN ANY WAY WE CAN.
AND AS ALWAYS, BE SAFE, BE KIND, AND HOPEFUL OUT THERE THROUGH THIS, IT WILL NOT LAST FOREVER!

***FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM***
Today (5/22/2020) will be the last evening for our food assistance program that we have been providing since Carbon County is now in the “yellow phase.” Approximately 800 meals have been provided to those in need since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to THANK everyone for their assistance from donations to time and patience over the last few months through this very different time. Thanks again for all of your support!
***3/31/2020 FOOD DRIVE UPDATE***
To assist with the Governor’s “Stay-at-Home” order for Carbon County, we will be limiting the food pickups to only Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. On those days, we will be providing the additional meal for the skipped day so there will not be a day without food for individuals in need. We again would like to thank everyone for their support for this program! For any questions, please contact Jesse Brennan at [email protected].
This project will continue through the weekend as well!
Due to the ongoing actions related to the Coronavirus, we recognize that there may be residents of Penn Forest Township who may not know where their next paycheck or meal may come from. We would like to help by offering a bag lunch, while supplies last, between the hours of 5-6 PM for the foreseeable future at Penn Forest Vol Fire Co #2 for everyone present in the car, no questions asked. If you are unable to drive, please get in touch and we will attempt to deliver to you in the within Penn Forest Township. If there is a change to the program, such as not being available one day or suspension, we will post it here on our Facebook.
During events like these, it is important that the community comes together to watch out for one another.
Thanks to Shoprite of Brodheadsville for providing us with assistance in being able to offer this to our community. Donations are appreciated for us to continue to offer this to the community. For any questions, donations, or assistance, please contact Jesse Brennan at [email protected].
If you wish to donate money for the food drive, please visit our website at www.pennforestfireco2.com. There you will see a donate button on the top of the homepage. Please select “COVID Food Drive” and you can add your amount to “other amount.” Thanks again for the overwhelming amount of the support!
While we are open 11am to 9pm/7 Days
Many of our neighbors have literally lost their incomes overnight.
Please remember there are options for those with children in our area to get free food for them. A local list is attached. Please note, the Firehouse is separate from the JT School District. They are doing outstanding community outreach.
Many McDonald and Burger King restuarants are offering free kids meals. Some may require a purchase of something else as well, some may not.
Most local churches, of all denominations, can put you in touch with our local food banks as well.
As always if anyone from our community with children, or not, is finding it tough to eat PLEASE private message us. We will help.

For all children in Jim Thorpe Area School District. New locations, including on the mountain. If anyone else is in need of food please message us privately, we all need to take care of each other during these hard economic times until this passes.
Hi all, in keeping with PA State Mandate, we will be adjusting our restuarant hours and operations as follows to meet the newest directives beginning tomorrow morning:
* We will NO LONGER be open or serving BREAKFAST each morning.
* Will now open at 11:00 AM,
rather than 8:30 AM, 7 Days A Week.
* We will offer DELIVERY AND TAKE OUT ONLY starting at 11AM, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
* NO IN HOUSE DINING CAN BE PERMITTED.
* WE WILL continue to offer FREE DELIVERY, as a way to help, at least a little, our community financially.
We all will be learning and adjusting to the ins and outs of our "new normal" in all areas of our lives going forward.
We hope you will bear with us, as we now work out the unforeseen delays and kinks in shifting to a delivery and take out only business, while still trying to serve our community. There may be some added wait time initially. If so, know we will work hard to correct that, so bear with us at the start.
Hoping all our community stays healthy and safe until this situation passes, as we all know it ultimately will. Continue to take care of yourselves and each other as we always do on the mountain.
Thanks, as always, for all your patience and support!
This was post on a site on FB, from a town in NJ, by a nurse. We think this is a FANTASTIC idea. It may help save everyone a lot of time and the elderly, especially, a lot of potential exposure that could be really bad for them. Please share around this community and surrounding ones. Take care of yourselves and each other until this all passes 😷👵👧🧔👱♀️👶🧏♀️
