July’s Giving Well was dedicated to the one we love…America! Happy 250th Birthday America!! Leroy Sand was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to accept our check on behalf of the Albany American Legion. We know they will put it towards one of the many things they do for our community. Thank you to all our Vets and thank you Oakmont Capital Services once again for your extra donation.

We usually post updates after our Giving Well is over, but Beckham’s story is one we felt like needed to be told beforehand. Beckham is the son of Sidney (Schiffler) and Tyler Barker. He was unexpectedly born on June 17 at just 23 weeks and 3 days gestation. He was delivered at Monticello Hospital and was immediately transferred to the NICU at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, where he continues to receive around-the-clock care. He is currently being supported on a ventilator and will most likely be in the NICU past his due date of October 11th. He has a mild Grade II brain bleed that we continue to pray will heal completely. He has also overcome a bacterial blood infection and an intestinal infection that required surgery to place a Penrose drain. In the coming days, Beckham is expected to undergo another procedure to close a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), a blood vessel in his heart that has remained open since birth. He has a long road ahead for him, but although he may be tiny (just reaching the 2 pound milestone in weight) he sure is mighty and a resilient little fighter! Come help support this courageous little guy.

We’re a little late this month, but out of state family weddings come first. August needed one of Dawn’s favorites to be the spotlight. The delicious tasting “Cinnilla Latte.” It’s a delightfully light tasting latte served hot or iced with cinnamon and vanilla. Don’t worry about how you pronounce it…we got you covered.😉

Sadly there are times when the Funds from the Giving Well don’t make it to the recipient in time. June’s Giving Well was meant for Patty Caspers. She was a teacher in Holdingford whom by the outpouring support that was shown, must have been one heck of a lady! She unfortunately passed mid June, but the funds will go directly to her family. Also, thank you Oakmont Capital Services for your additional donation!
