RIP. Richard Meredith Owens 1/11/44-6/21/26. Richard was a cornerstone at Juanita & Maude. In his own way he spurred Ariane and Scott to open J&M. In year two (when many restaurants fail) he generously bailed out our popular, but fledgling young restaurant and it truly would not be here without him. He was immensely proud and always overjoyed when we often celebrated here as a family. Thanks Dad. Love you.

Last week we lost our Chef de Cuisine, Eric Ricca, but more importantly, we lost our friend.
Erik had a lightning streak of creativity, was a relentless perfectionist, and an inspired idealist. His experience, practicality, and foresight turned that spark into something tangible he shared with us all.
For over half a decade at J&M we witnessed thousands of people enriched by his craft, labor, passion and love.
This wound cuts deep, but the scar will be a totem to the beautiful times we were blessed to have together.
Erik’s energy courses through all of us and inhabits this place. He remains like a scent or a taste that once known will never be forgotten. It will always be here with us and for that we are forever grateful.

This Sunday! Happy hour at J&M 2:30 - 5:30. We are participating in the Taste of Albany organized by the Albany Rotary Club. www.tasteofalbany.org for tickets. In addition we will be open during the event offering sliders, steamed buns, cocktails and more!
