Today is our Grandma Emma's birthday. I think of her every day. Whether, while making a sopapilla, or how she would have handled different issues. I have good memories of my grandma. Some I'll share someday. And, of course I learned the recipes just like she made them, and many my mom taught me because she learned them from her. But, how I learned was by observing her. I remember things she said that I later pulled a part after thinking something after she said them, then later, analyzing the meaning or reasons behind them. She was a strong lady, in so many ways. And, it's what I realize women have to be when they run businesses. She was respected by many. And, everyday I think of something she did or said that always keeps me analyzing and trying to understand all she accomplished. Happy birthday Gram... we miss you!
