Some coffee shops give you a drink. This one gives you a place to stay a while.

Restaurant Blitz Monday is spotlighting Catalina cafe this week.

The coffee comes from Jim's Organic, smooth and never bitter. Smoothies get made with real fruit and vegetables, never poured from a bottle. Breakfast and lunch run all morning, and the chai is a family secret nobody in town has cracked. Frappes, iced, hot, and nearly every flavor and milk alternative you would want.

There are rooms for everyone here. A kids' room where the little ones play while you finish your coffee. A quiet study room for students. A couch area groups reserve ahead of time.

One regular said every drink is worth ordering, and that if there is a wait, it is only because a local business is making everything with love.

You will find them at 1301 10th Street in Alamogordo, open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, closed Sunday.
