Todays camp at Crown Point Ecology Center!

Toni from United Way of Summit & Medina played a grocery budgeting game with the camp participants while Rachel from OSU Extension - Summit County discussed how wheat is grown, let the kids mill their own flour and churn their own butter. Chef Dannika Stevenson of sip.savor.soul showed the camp participants how to make a caprese chicken sub, salad, a homemade ranch dressing and homemade peach drink with frozen fruit. Fresh vegetables grown right on Crown Points farm where harvested and used in the meal.

All camp participants went home with all the grocery items used in their lunch along with a panini press and spatula to share what they learned today with their families and enjoy the meal again together.

Another successful camp with Students With A Goal

Maggie with OSU Extension - Summit County came to talk about where our food comes from. Camp participants got the opportunity to mill their own flour and churn their own butter.

Toni with United Way of Summit & Medina played a financial budget game allowing participants to grocery shop within a budget.

Susan Flowers demonstrated to the participants how to make whole wheat protein, lentils and squash spaghetti.

Everyone got to enjoy lunch together and share their experiences with food deserts.

Each participant went home with all the grocery items to make homemade garlic bread and a panini press.
