we want to think Cleveland five news for making this report I really hope that it reaches out to all the people and we get together and and bus these three individuals down so they can no longer feel that righteous power to come and disrespect our properties and steal from us

Some small restaurant owners in Akron are concerned after they said a group of thieves are targeting their grease traps. See their concerns below.

During this difficult time, we have felt an overwhelming amount of love and support. To everyone who shared our story, helped spread the word, and took the time to secure your own oil tanks so other small businesses don’t experience this loss — thank you.

There is nothing more powerful than a community coming together, not just one neighborhood, but the whole summit county, to protect and support one another — especially our small, family-owned businesses. ❤️

Because of all of your support, our story has reached Channel 5 Cleveland News, and we were given the opportunity to share what happened and bring more awareness to our community.

🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT — PLEASE SHARE 🚨

This is something I truly never thought I would have to make a post about.

Early this morning, three individuals came onto our property and broke off the top portion of our grease trap in order to steal the grease inside.

To be very clear, these individuals are NOT the company that services or owns our grease trap. They came onto our property without permission, damaged our equipment, and took our grease for their own financial gain.
Running a small, family-owned restaurant is not easy. Every dollar matters. Every delivery, every catering order, every customer who walks through our doors helps us keep our doors open and our family working.

So to wake up and see that someone intentionally came onto our property, damaged something we depend on, and stole from us is incredibly upsetting.
And I know we are not the only small business this has happened to.
In fact, another local business owner actually reached out to me after seeing what happened to us and told me that these same individuals came to her establishment that very same morning and attempted to steal from her grease trap as well. her establishment is less than a five-minute walk from ours.

So I am asking our community — especially other small business owners, restaurants, and anyone with a grease trap or outdoor equipment — please be careful. Double-check your property. Make sure you have cameras pointed toward your grease trap and any areas where someone could access your property.
If you recognize any of these individuals, recognize the vehicle, or have any information that could help identify them or lead authorities to where the stolen grease is being taken, please reach out to us or report the information directly to Akron Police.

We are not trying to start trouble. We are not looking for revenge.
We simply want our property respected, our community protected, and these individuals stopped from continuing to take advantage of small businesses.
we are simply trying to make an honest living.
