Free coffee from The Grounded Coffee House at The Depot and donuts Baker's Dozen Donuts will be available. This event is made possible through a sponsorship from Visit DeKalb County .

📢 Announcement 📢

The Grounded Coffee House will be closed this weekend on Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th as we embark on a special journey with our son, who has been selected to participate in the Concours d’Elegance at Copshaholm.

We appreciate your understanding as we in celebrate his accomplishment.

Dear Grounded Coffee House Family and Friends,

It is said "Change is the only constant in life", and sometimes it takes us down unexpected paths.

Today, The Grounded Coffee House at The Depot is announcing that we are converting the coffee business from a fixed storefront in downtown Akron to a coffee catering business (events, mobile, car shows, meetings, weddings) as our family embarks on a new journey.

While we are filled with much excitement with the opportunity to grow and experience this type of metamorphosis, we will never forget the roots and its beginning, and we could never thank you enough for your love, care and support.
Making this change gives us back an amazing work-life balance to cherish more time and close connections with our loved ones who live near and far.

The storefront's last day will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
We will also continue the maintenance, preservation and restoration of the depot starting with the sitework this summer/fall.
One thing that stands out to us clearly. When we first started decorating for the coffee house, we hung the sign that said, "Be Not Forgetful to Entertain Strangers: For Thereby Some Have Entertained Angels Unawares (Hebrews 13:2). We were purposeful to make it our mission to build relationships with whoever walked through that door. We cannot even describe how many strangers are now friends... they may be angels too, who knows? We will have to write down many of these stories because they are just beautiful.

We follow our faith, and we listen. We have leaned on our ultimate advisor and are excited what he has in store for our family.
