Hey friends, we wanted to address this more in depth. 💕

Our intentions were never to go dark with this news, but unfortunately a personal medical emergency sideswiped life before we could fully see this notice through, in a public light.

For those of you who have been around for awhile, you know that 2023 was particularly a challenging year for us, as Square Scullery. As if surviving and navigating covid for two years hadn't been enough as a small business, but then to get slammed with a pipe burst / kitchen flood last Christmas and being forced out of business for 4 months was absolutely devastating. We were just not ever fully able to bounce back from it, especially in the midst of a self funded DIY build for our new Scullery location.

Our goal with Meow Bao was not only to launch a concept we wholeheartedly believed in, but also justify the overhead involved to hold onto our Highland Square location, despite Square Scullery's move. We've spent 5 years in Highland Square... 5 years worth of blood, sweat, tears, with a whole lotta love and hard work. We weren't ready to let go, we still aren't, but we have to be realistic about our abilities, financials, limitations and time with the opening of Scullery barreling around the corner. Regardless of our efforts, at the end of the day we are still just humans trying to juggle & navigate small business, but also our own life & family.

That said, Meow Bao is a concept we absolutely believe in, and this will not be the last of it. When we have the proper time to allocate towards its support, success and longevity, we will pop our heads up to regroup & start a new. Even with this incredibly difficult decision, we are still so excited for what the future holds for us, for both Square Scullery, but also Meow Bao, when the time is right.

For now, stay tuned with and all the awesome happenings through this month leading up to our grand opening, and please don't forget - this is not forever, just for now. 😻

Hey friends!

We are unfortunately dealing with a handful of unexpected weirdnesses today that are making opening incredibly hard, and have decided to push back our opening until next Wednesday! It's not ideal, as the plan was to be open for Small Business Saturday, but the world seems to have other plans in the mix.

Have no fear though, be ready to rock & roll on Wednesday for ramen Wednesday and a whole new menu to boot! 😻
