Denise is the genius behind the amazing fresh Grab & Go deli items at Kahoots!

Our cold box isn't filled with mass-produced, frozen food. Our deli items are made from scratch, right here at Kahoots. Our meats and cheeses are freshly sliced, our dishes are prepared in-house, and nothing is ever frozen.

Stop in and see what Denise has been making! We typically have a great selection of Grab & Go hot meals, fresh deli sandwiches, our amazing Buffalo Chicken Wrap, homemade enchiladas, along with a rotating selection of salads, dips, queso, salsa, desserts, breads, cobblers and more.

This store is going to make one final public statement regarding this situation, and then we are moving on, or moving forward.

We were willing to let this matter go, and we still are. The trash was removed, the original post was taken down, and as far as we were concerned, the situation was resolved.

However, the continued comments suggesting that we somehow handled this improperly or owe anyone a public apology need to stop.

Let's be very clear: Kahoots did not create this situation. We were the victim of it. Someone entered our property and dumped a large amount of private household trash into dumpsters that we pay to have emptied. It took up so much space that we could not properly use our own dumpsters.

No one contacted the store beforehand or after to explain what had happened or to offer to correct it. It was only after the situation was posted publicly and received significant attention that someone came and removed the trash.

Once that happened, we accepted the resolution, removed the post, and publicly thanked the gentleman who came and cleaned it up. We even offered to buy him lunch. We also made it clear that we understood the homeowners themselves may not have personally dumped the trash.

That was us extending grace and considering the matter finished.

What we will not do is apologize for protecting our property and our business.

Expecting a business to apologize because it posted evidence of someone improperly using its property is backwards. If merchandise were taken from a store and later returned after the person was confronted, returning it would resolve part of the problem—it wouldn't suddenly make the store responsible for what happened.

We also spent a substantial portion of our weekend dealing with a problem we did not create.

We understand that sometimes other people's actions create situations outside someone's control. That's exactly why, once we heard the explanation and the trash was removed, we let it go.

But resolving the problem afterward does not change what originally occurred.

So this is where it ends.

The trash is gone. The original post is gone. We accepted the explanation. We thanked the person who corrected it. No apology will be issued by this store.

We strongly encourage everyone involved to accept the resolution and move forward. We would much rather leave this matter exactly where it is than spend any more time on it.

**UPDATE ON YESTERDAY’S DUMPSTER POST**

We wanted to provide an update regarding the large amount of trash that was dumped in our dumpster yesterday.

The individuals connected to the trash were located, and the situation was explained to us. **The owners of the home were not involved in dumping the trash.** Unfortunately, it was their trash, and their names were on several of the items, which is why they were initially connected to the situation.

Most importantly, someone came back and **removed all of the trash from our dumpster.** We believe in giving credit where credit is due—that was the honorable thing to do, and we sincerely appreciate it.

We have removed the original post, consider the matter resolved, and appreciate everyone who helped get the situation taken care of.

We don't know the name of the gentleman who came and cleaned everything out, but if you see this, **please come by The Dock and have lunch on us.** We appreciate you stepping up and making it right.

At the end of the day, that's all we ever wanted: **our dumpster cleaned out and the problem resolved.**
