First impressions count. From the moment a person enters your facility, the appearance of the floor powerfully influences their overall perception. Specialized floor care sets the right expectations with warehouse clean, retail sheen, or hotel gleam.

The Black Diamond Cleaning and Polishing System works with standard floor cleaning equipment to achieve the gloss level that best serves your facility and customers. Here are our experts’ tips.

🔷 Assess the starting condition of the floor.

A thorough evaluation tells you what end results are attainable. Significant damage should be properly addressed before tackling problems like stains and etching.

Gloss is created by installing a fine scratch pattern in the floor. Black Diamond floor pads work by mechanically abrading the surface to remove flaws, then systematically refining the scratch pattern to render the desired appearance.

For floors in rough condition, begin with the coarser 200 or 400 grit Black Diamond pads for a surface reset.

🔷 Target the gloss level that sends the right message.

Each grit level further refines the floor’s appearance. Consider the facility’s purpose and the perception you want to convey, and continue the steps until you reach the optimal appearance.

🔹 Well-maintained matte concrete floors often suffice for a warehouse environment. No gloss necessary? Choose Black Diamond 800 for no-nonsense clean.
🔹 In retail spaces, an inviting satin luster encourages shoppers to linger. Black Diamond 1500 produces an appealing sheen.
🔹 In luxury environments where the beautiful setting is the product, wet-look polish is well worth the effort. Go for the 3000 grit or the specialty 8000 grit Black Diamond pads.

🔷 Don’t forget maintenance.

In terms of labor, each step in the Black Diamond Cleaning and Polishing System takes roughly the same amount of time to complete.

🔹 A plain, zero-gloss state requires less labor upfront. However, this rougher surface will also get dirtier faster.
🔹 An impressive end-result requires more initial steps, but floors at higher gloss levels are also easier to clean.

Once you reach your perfect gloss level, maintain it with the same grit used to achieve it.
