When I moved back to my hometown and opened this restaurant, I thought I had moved back to a small town and community that helped and cared for each other. Now I see so many voices tearing that apart. Why?

Our business remains closed because of restrictions limiting our capacity, as do many other wonderful businesses, likely owned and run by some of your friends. Many cannot reopen until Phase 4, some unfortunately will run out of money and not make it that long.

So I'm asking for your help to solve that. No money, just common sense and one small inconvenience in fashion.

*1. Please wear a mask when out in public.

At the grocery store, at Home Depot, to get coffee, while working at your business with lots of other people. Wherever else! Just do it.

I realize you think you don't look tough or pretty or cool. But you do to us. It shows you're smart, caring and compassionate to your friends, neighbors, that grocery store clerk, and businesses like ours. You're not a sheep, you're simply going about your business in public and not being a complete ignorant jerk.

*2. Still practice social distancing, and most of all support each other.

I understand these are frustrating times, and I know you're tired of your kids. We all wan't to go back to living normal lives. Do yourself a favor and just get over that notion for awhile. Instead, look for the reasons to care, and not buy into all the political rhetoric. Grays Harbor IS a great place. Let's all try to be part of a community that cares about each other, and helps....not be a person who wants to act selfishly to spread hate, fake news, and viruses. Whether you agree with it or not! Just don't.

The numbers of businesses that will close because of this will be staggering. I hope our community can rally and be different, so all of our local businesses can come back, including ours. We miss you, and want to come back better than ever, we just need our community to help. ❤️

After careful consideration, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our staff and guests to not reopen for the Phase 2 variance. We will reconsider for Phase 3 with the release of the defined rules, but will remain closed until social regulations are lifted and we can bring back the wonderful food, cocktails and atmosphere we all enjoyed most about Rediviva. Food Banks in Grays Harbor - Coastal Community Action Program

We have had a ton of people apply to be part of our Community Delivery Program. We would love to deliver to everyone in need, but unfortunately that just isn't feasible. The goal of the program is to bring nutritious food to those who can't leave their house out of direct risk from COVID-19. We will continue to receive application, and apologize if we can't add you to the program. We are trying to address it based on recipient needs.

If you have applied and are experiencing food insecurities, but are not at risk, please reach out to these local resources that specialize in this service. We are just trying to help the folks who can't leave home and don't have people to help them. We love you all and wish we could help everyone! We really need to make a priority out of our senior population without support, and those other folks in need.

There has been so much outreach and encouragement from our friends, we wanted to let everyone one know how they can help. As the government continues to keep our doors closed for Covid19, realistically....the bills are piling up.

Here it is! For the very first time ever.... we are issuing a Limited Edition release of some Rediviva, hometown, swag! This will be the first of two releases while we are closed and these items will only be available for a limited time!!!

Please, please, please show your love and help us, by pre-ordering a shirt, crewneck, hat or gift certificate, and support not only us, but our local PNWPrintworks! We hope this will generate some income in the downtime, so we can open back up as a community kitchen while we remain closed, serving those in need and bring you the best restaurant on the Washington Coast when we can officially reopen in a few weeks!

Many of you have seen continued reports about the current epidemiological investigation that is being done. We would like to set the record about our feelings and actions, as well as, how and if, we are moving forward. The investigation is still on going with the State and County Department of Health officials, and swab samples are possible being submitted for further testing.

We were absolutely devastated and heartbroken to find out that a number of our guests that were part of our Valentine's Day weekend became ill. Of the 160-180 servings of chicken liver mousse that we prepared and served, a large number of people experienced symptoms associated with Campylobacter bacteria. This bacteria can normally be killed by cooking products to an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Unfortunately we believe that this didn't happen. We used a traditional method for preparing chicken liver mousse; by searing, simmering and pureeing, just like we have done in the past. This simply wasn't effective in removing the threat of contamination, potentially because of the volume of livers. We are not passing the buck, and was simply trying to communicate the facts about the products we were serving. This was a mistake in preparation, and from what we can tell, not a cross contamination issue, as most of all the symptoms have the mousse as the common denominator.

During a 4 hour outbreak investigation, the County Health officials observed several violations and opinions that were later filled out into an inspection report, after the state suggested that we close for quarantine. Many of these issues were not addressed with management on site and evidential, but since issuance of the report, have been in complete compliance in their suggestions; about how we can not only prevent the current issue from continuing in our facility, but how to better prevent it from occurring in the future and operate in the safest possible way.

Many of the guests that had symptoms and became ill, are our very dear friends and supporters. It has never been our intent to hurt anyone or cause them pain. We invested in Downtown Aberdeen to bring light to this community, have tried our best to exist in a very tough market for 7 years, serving hundreds of thousands of guests, and are all saddened by this darkness. Our apologies and love goes out to all that were affected by this event and hope to have your support moving forward.

We will be closed until the investigation is concluded, and we can safely open to be 100% certain that any remaining contaminants from the livers are removed from the facility.

Please join Heyday Farm as we welcome Chef Andy Bickar, owner of the acclaimed Aberdeen, WA based Rediviva, to our farm house for the second dinner in our Chef in the Garden series on August 28th. We are excited to have Chef Andy in our kitchen, as our two restaurants share a common passion - sourcing as many ingredients from the local area as possible, truly taking advantage of the varying seasons and all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Guests will be greeted with a welcoming bite and sip of bubbles and are invited to stroll the farm gardens. The chefs will share stories of their dishes and inspirations that come from all the culinary opportunities of our region, after which guests will make their way inside for dinner. Chef Andy and Heyday Farm House Executive Chef Tadao Mitsui will serve a 5-course meal designed and prepared in collaboration to highlight the flavors of the Pacific Northwest bounty at the height of the season.

We would like to notify our followers about an ongoing epidemiology investigation that we are working on with the County Health Department and State. Testing is currently being done on chicken livers that we purchased from Draper Valley Farms, that may have been contaminated with Camphylobacter. We served them served on and around Valentine's Day in Chicken Liver Mousse. We are working to test for, and resolve this issue, but may be closed to take to resolve this issue. We do our very best to follow safe practices and measures, to ensure our food is delicious and safe to eat. Sometimes issues arise from purveyors, that get passed through onto the consumer. This is one of those cases.
