These are a few of my favorite things.

The secret to many culinary dishes and beverages is the use of herbs like mint.
In it's different varieties
Different leaf shapes
Different sizes
One herb
Mint

Planting herbs has been my drug of choice.

Mint has been one of the most resilient herbs I have grown. I must say it enjoys being plucked.

I love mint. I would best describe the taste of mint as freshness.

I use mint to garnish my juices, in my teas and let's not forget how well mint compliments the taste of beef.
The fresher the mint the fresher the experience.

Try using fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup of sprite
2 Limes cut into half
6 strawberries and boom you have a mojito recipe to die for.
Don't forget to lightly crush the mint leaves to help them release their flavor

Finally...
All for the sweet and peppery taste of cinnamon:

Every year my papa cuts a branch off the cinnamon tree to scrap the bark off the branch.
The bark is stored away to dry until it's finally ready!

Cinnamon bark when ground gives you a fine powder that has a variety of uses.
I use my cinnamon powder for my teas and coffees.
Seasoning meat and fish cooking, and when I bake.

Cinnamon bark can also be used whole: a piece can be put in a flask and let to brew.

The reality is because everyday may seem like forever we all will snack often.
Healthy snack alternatives this season will be a life saver.
Putting the effort in making some of these snacks is what will give you much needed touch with reality

I cheated rolling the dough into balls rather than cutting them into cubes
Let's not forget not wanting to roll thousands of thin chapatis so we made huge thin chapatis cut them into pieces large enough to take the pea curry with a dash of chilli and our stomachs have been smiling since last evening.

My favorite kind of chicken chicken wing and back....
Road side remix.

It's interesting how everyday relentlessly the muchomo roasters in Nakawa begin their barbecue rituals.
I have learnt to continue from where they stop and so effortless put my tinny piece of chicken in a pan.

You would think they slaughtered a dove.
My remix begins with dicing onions and garlic.
Slicing a lemon πŸ‹ drizzling the juice on my piece of chicken
adding the diced onions and garlic,
Three spoons of honey 🍯 and a cup of water.
Let's not forget the herbs and spices I throw in...
Bring the combination to boil over low heat until the water runs out.
These unforgettable pieces of chicken leave you wanting MORE!!

Since nothing goes to waste boiling the pineapple peels will give you just the right amount of pineapple taste and aroma for your Pina colada.

The rose water gave much needed floral fusion.
