Ebola. Ebola. Ebola.
Soldiers train every day to protect us.
Most days, there is no war.
Yet the training continues.
Why?
Because when a threat appears, that is not the time to start preparing.
The same principle applies to our bodies.
Every day we wake up knowing that at some point in life we may face illness, infection, stress, or health challenges. The question is: how are we preparing?
As a naturopath, my passion has always been optimum health—for myself, my family, and my fellow Ugandans.
When seasons of disease outbreaks come and go, whether it is Ebola, COVID-19, severe flu, or another health challenge, I believe the focus should not only be on reacting. It should also be on strengthening the body before the battle arrives.
We service our cars.
We maintain our homes.
We train our soldiers.
But how often do we invest in maintaining our own bodies?
For me, that includes healthy eating, movement, proper elimination, stress management, adequate rest, and periodic cleansing practices that support the body’s natural functions.
If you have never considered giving your body extra attention, perhaps this is the season to think about it.
Preparation is not panic.
Preparation is wisdom.
The stronger and healthier the body is before a challenge arrives, the better equipped it is to face whatever comes.
