ACTA Design & Events started with artists gathering to create. Today, they’re producing stages, training young technicians, and shaping the creative future of Northern Uganda.

ReggaeFest Gulu grew from 250 people to more than 700 people. A clear sign that culture is rising and local talent is leading.

When Angelina moved from Portland to Northern Uganda, she didn’t just find a café - she found connection.

If you’ve spent time at Elephante, you probably know Ramen the cat. She moves through Elephante knowing she belongs. From the garden to the café, across offices and down the halls she walks with ease and quiet confidence, no rush. no reason, just presence.

She reminds us community isn’t always loud, sometimes it’s soft and slow, built through quiet presence, daily rhythms, and knowing where you feel safe. If you come to Elephante, look out for her, she’ll probably already be looking out for you.
