Grylls' most famous television project is Survival at Any Cost, which airs on Channel 4 for the UK and Discovery Channel for the US, Europe, Asia and Africa. In the program, Grylls lands in wild places, showing viewers how to survive. There are currently seven seasons. The program debuted in 2006 in America and is now broadcast to an international audience of more than 1.2 billion people, becoming one of the highest rated programs on the Discovery Channel[1]. The concept of this transmission is as follows: Bear without supplies and equipment is landed in different parts of the earth, and his main task is to get to civilization. During the course of the series, various techniques for surviving in extreme situations in the wild were demonstrated: searching for provisions, getting fire without matches, finding and building shelters for spending the night, determining the cardinal points without a compass, safety in the wild, etc. Grylls also tells stories about travelers lost or killed in the wild. Some early episodes of Survive at All Costs were criticized. They were reported to be misleading to the onlookers, and the situations Grylls gets into need to be dealt with in other ways. The Discovery Channel assured that production and editing would be transparent, accurate and clear in response to criticism. On March 13, 2012, Discovery Channel terminated its business relationship with Bear Grylls due to contract disputes.

Grylls suggested that the wreckage found did not belong to the ship's main mast, but rather to the masts of ship boats equipped for sailing. Several sites were also found, lined with stones, which, quite possibly, could have been places for setting up tents. The northern part of the island has preserved traces of a large fire, the foothills have turned black. On this basis, it has been suggested that perhaps the people kindled a large signal fire from the wood of their boats, waiting in vain for rescue from the north. Meanwhile, who owns the remains has not been established: members of the Franklin crew, who again went north in the hope of meeting rescuers, the Eskimos, or an unknown group of whalers

In 2010, Bear Grylls sailed two Arctic Wolf rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) through the Northwest Passage to raise awareness of climate change and hopefully raise money for the children's charity Global Angels. North of King William Island in Wellington Sound, where any other ships were bound to run aground, the group stopped on an unnamed island for the night. The island was a small barren piece of land that rose only 8 meters above sea level and was about 200 meters wide. Human bones, a skull, pieces of cloth, a whalebone knife, and the remains of masts were found there.

In 2008, Bear Grylls, along with Al Hodgson (who has both legs amputated) and Freddie McDonald, got into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest fall in a vertical wind tunnel [22]. The previous record set in the US was 1 hour 36 minutes. Grylls, Hodgson and McDonald, using a vertical pipe in Milton Keynes, broke the record by several tens of seconds.

In 2008, Bear led a four-man team to climb one of the world's most remote unclimbed peaks, located in Antarctica. The expedition was organized to raise money for the children's charity Global Angels and to raise public awareness of new potential sources of electricity. During this mission, the team also intended to explore the coast of Antarctica on an inflatable boat and jet skis, some of which were powered by bioethanol, and then cross the icy desert on electric paramotor kite skis. However, Grylls broke his shoulder on this stretch. The expedition was aborted and evacuated

Then weeks of acclimatization climbs, including ascents and descents on the south side, climbing the Khumbu Glacier, the Western Cirque Glacier, the 5,000-foot (1,524-meter) wall of ice called Lhotse. Together with former Special Air Service soldier Neil Lawton, he made the ascent to the top, overcoming bad weather, fatigue, dehydration, insomnia. They had to flee from the "death zone", where the air is three times thinner than at sea level.
To prepare for climbing to such a height, in 1997 Grylls climbed the summit of Ama Dablam, which Sir Edmund Hillary called impregnable.

On May 26, 1998, Grylls climbed Jomolungma, something he had dreamed about since he was eight years old, when his father gave him a picture of Everest. Bear Grylls is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton (23 years old) to climb this mountain. This was only eighteen months after the back injury. It should be noted, however, that James Allen, who climbed Everest in 1995 with the Australian team, was 22 years old, but he had dual citizenship - British and Australian. The Grylls expedition spent almost three months on the southeast side of Everest. First there was a reconnaissance ascent, during one of which Grylls fell into a crevasse in the glacier, hit himself and passed out, and when he regained consciousness he found himself dangling at the end of a rope.

After leaving school, Grylls joined the British Army and spent several months in the Himalayas in Sikkim and West Bengal. In 1994-1997, he served in the special forces, in the 21st regiment of the Special Air Service. He has been to North Africa twice. In 1996, he was injured during a parachute jump in Kenya. The parachute dome broke off at 1,600 feet (500 meters) and only partially opened. Grylls fell on his back, damaging three vertebrae. He later said: "I should have cut the main chute and used the spare, but I thought I had time to sort it out." Grylls spent the next eighteen months at Hadley Court Military Rehabilitation Centre, at first in a paralyzed state.
