話說掌櫃的從軍之年，為軍中導師，督管錢糧五臟。軍中伙夫，有江某善烹，藝絕四方。日月浸淫，終年濡沫，掌櫃的也就近水樓台，習得
一身本事。後江某屆退，掌櫃的時常居於職責或恃以真傳，指導新進伙夫廚藝，久之，部隊同袍競以“火頭軍師”相稱。…數十年之後，掌櫃的轉折江湖，心有懸念，乃效法相如文君執壺賣酒，抬出“火頭軍師”招牌，舞弄傳藝，與美食佳餚為伍，招各位客官相伴，日日爐邊火紅，討個市儈生活。

如唱本裡說的，眼見它起高樓，眼見它樓塌了…。掌櫃的也從基層幹起，當過生產線上的頭目，除外，還當過甚麼「狗不理」的一段時間，也當過幾家公司這裡「腫」那裏「漲」的，也擺過夜市，也開過牧場，也能荷鋤莊稼，也能文耕筆種，塗鴉吟唱(有興趣者請link FB水歌專頁)，如今，更能瓢盆鍋鏟烹鮮煮味，掌櫃的，一個很故事的人。
