Adam went above and beyond to make us feel safe and welcome. As a group of 4 young girls traveling to a place we had never been before, he understood our weariness regarding interactions with strangers and did very well to address that weariness by providing genuine comfort with legitimate and sound advice on how to address the locals properly and respectfully. We arrived really late (about midnight) and Adam still greeted us so pleasantly, with open arms, and a few shots of Tequila for my birthday! He was fantastic about answering the phone, even in the wee hours of the night, and he was kind enough to help us with our luggage. His wife Keisha was equally as pleasant and she even braided my hair for my birthday as well! He introduced us to his kids, who were beautiful and lovely, and their family dynamic was part of why we felt so at home at Sandcastles. The space is gorgeous, a wonderful balance of both indoor and outdoor private space, and the mosquito nets worked really well. There is nothing quite like waking up to that view in the center dining area, and being able to walk down to Castara Village/Beach just down the hill. Many tourists apparently stay in Crown Pointe, and travel into Castara for a day trip, but I HIGHLY suggest you do what we did, and that's stay in Castara, and travel to whatever other villages you might want to while in Tobago. If you want to feel like a tourist, do the former; but if you want to feel like a local and experience the same warm welcome and hospitality we experienced, do what we did and stay in Castara (specifically at Sandcastles). While in Castara, make sure you make the short trek down to the village/beach and visit Andy's bar. The guys there have great energy and are happy to greet you with drinks at great price points. Adam is happy to provide any info/advice/tips on how to do Tobago the right way, so make sure you utilize him as he is a fantastic resource. Adam and Sandcastles are a huge part of why our trip to Tobago was so amazing and unforgettable, and I would suggest them to anyone. I will also always stay with Adam whilst in Tobago in the future!
