"No Roti Like Ours" How it all began

Home Restaurant Ltd. was first started by Edward and Chandra Bhopa on November 8th 1977.

Though very small in its start up, Home Restaurant bloomed into three outlet across the east west corridor. The owners attribute the success of their company to hard work and the unrelenting desire to be the best that they could be in their field. Home Restaurant Ltd. is a group of quick service dining establishments that provides its communities with the unique mix of East Indian and Creole food. Its signature product is roti, a soft flour flat-bread, which is traditionally eaten with savory stews and curries. Originally, Home Restaurant Ltd. made its mark in the community by selling Paratha, one kind of roti. Paratha was something that was customarily made only in the home and for special occasions but the Bhopas brought it into the industry to capitalize on their “as home-like as possible” culinary concept, which became a major factor in the restaurants’ longevity and success. has been a landmark in the Arima community for over almost 40 years and its Grande branch is thriving.
