Today is March 8.
Today isn't just a day when flowers are given and kind words are spoken.
Today is a day to remember the women whose labor has been ignored, whose voices have been silenced, who have been devalued, and who—tragically—have been taken from us.
Today, there are women who are no longer with us.
Women whose dreams were left unfinished, whose voices were silenced, whose true worth was understood far too late.
A woman's life, her dreams, and her efforts are never insignificant enough to be ignored.
Because a society is only as strong as the value it gives to its women.
We respectfully remember the women we have lost,
and we stand in solidarity with the struggles of all women who exist and persevere in every area of life.
For a more equal, safer, and more just world…
For tomorrows where women can live without fear…
We don't forget. We don't give up.
