Dear members,

I've been waiting to publish anything about the attempt to turn over the government in Turkey for one reason only: I wanted to orientate, read and hear many different opinions about the situation.

My request to you all is: Remember that the news industry is very much run by money and a very big tool for politics. Be very critical to your sources when you seek information and don't believe everything you read - there is always a reason for the view presented. Talk to people you trust and read news from different sources (political, religious, cultural and otherwise) and then make up your own mind.

I'm currently on holiday in Alanya and I'm actually impressed with how the people has handled the situation. The minarets are not only spreading prayers, they are also being used to encourage people to stick together and stay calm. There was no trouble among the turkish people - in the night both men, women and children of all ethnical origin went out in the streets in a peaceful manner with flags and signaling from cars that they were protesting against this turn over attempt.

I've been talking to tourists and none of the ones I've met feel that the situation here is unsafe. Today life and business is already back to normal - if you can call the desperate situation for the tourist industry normal......it is not. The turkish people are full of dispair for what is happening to their country.

Yes - we will still go to Turkey!!!
