Spotted on the reefs of Atauro ✨
The stunning Comet (Calloplesiops altivelis) hiding deep within the reef.

Its false “eye spot” near the tail is actually a clever defense mechanism, confusing predators into attacking the wrong end while the fish escapes into the shadows. Nature really outdid itself with this one.
