Germans have a weird obsession with white asparagus! Each spring, we Germans hunt down the freshest asparagus, sometimes traveling to the countryside and visiting asparagus festivals. Or we invite friends over to eat asparagus together with a side of raw ham, some potatoes, and of course Sauce Hollandaise.
