July just continues to shine 🌿

The perfect time to visit if you need a rest. If you like slow beach walks or to read books in the shade, eat good food without queuing for a seat or enjoy a treat in some beach restaurant with an amazing sunset as company. Time for talks, friends, family if you wish ~ or time for yourself.

From Koh Lanta: Nothing new to report. The island is quiet. The sun is shining. The beaches are empty. The sunsets are breathtaking. Etc.

From Cozy: Well, you know, it's always something going on, but even Cozy is in a holiday mood ☀️ Waiting for some stuff. Waiting for some people to come and help with some stuff. Wrong stuff coming. Broken stuff coming. No stuff coming. No people coming. Etc.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Is currently working on changes in the menu. Maybe some surprises there. Maybe not.
🙋🏼 Is currently working on her tan. Definitely a surprise, for her skin ➡️🍅

Midsummer in the tropics 🌿

Thanks to Bonnie’s Deli we're now able to find necessities for a midsummer lunch even here on Koh Lanta 🌴🌴🌴
And thanks to the always well stocked 7/11 ~ we're even able to have a strawberry cake 😉🍓
And thanks to the weather ~ the beautiful Peacock Flower-trees (delonix regia) are in full bloom, right in time 🌸🌸🌸

Painting walls and shelfs and floors and pots and lamps and stuff. Re-planting and moving plants forward, back, and forward again. Trying to organize curtain guy, construction guy and fan guy and all other kind of guys that need to be organised ~ is some of what we're doing at Cozy in low season 🫟🚧🛠️

Our staff is here all summer making sure Cozy stays clean and happy, that it's dry where it's supposed to be dry and cold where it's supposed to be cold, looking out for intruders as monitor lizards and termites and ants, the usual tropical island issues...

‼️Donation update‼️
Three donation hand-outs has been made recently. Today was the last for now, but you're welcome all year to leave donations in the restaurant, it will be taken care of.

⚽ All football -shoes -socks -protections -gloves etc etc are separated from the rest of the donations and given to some local team every year. This year we had help from Kru Tridanai Saetan to reach out to children at the football arena on Elephant Road. Are you playing in a team in your home country and have the possibility to bring used clothes or shoes to Koh Lanta? We're happy to help your stuff to find a new owner.

🎒 Saladan School received the biggest donation this year. Clothes, toys, school material... and more. Malee Highlands shuttle was filled until her last square millimeter and even though we did our best to squeeze everything in, we needed two fully packed motorbikes to come along. The happiest moment was when they thought we left and went "all in" in all the boxes, teachers as happy as kids. So much joy!

🪁 Wuttisartwittayanuson school, Lanta Noi, received our last hand-out this season. A school with 600 students, partly a boarding school and with "students" from 2,5 years "old". Again, Malee Highlands shuttle was filled with donations - today mostly for smaller children. Toys and school material, but also hygiene products and beddings for boarding students in need of support.

A special 🌹Thank You 🌹 goes as always to ตู่ ธนพร "Tuttu" for helping us navigate through cultural challenges. Thank you also Azee Sah Chuairod "Yaya" for helping us today, even if your baby belly was more cute than helpful 😘
Also, again, thank you Malee Highlands (why can't I tag you?) for letting us borrow your car and for the very generous donation, you have put a great smile on many small faces 🙏🏽

AND thank you also all of you who have trusted us this season. Thank you thank you thank you ❤️

The yearly, traditional staff dinner is an opportunity for the Cozy-team to be "on the other side" for one evening. To be served and taken care of, try different flavors, dishes and drinks and get inspired and motivated for the coming season.
But most of all it's an evening to relax and have fun together after an intense period.
With the only instruction "be at Cozy 5 pm dressed in white" ~ they all came for a last evening all together before the summer rest.

They are the best, you've heard us saying that many times. But they are. If you know them, you know.
Thank you Tuttu, Takky, Yaya, Teo and Mui for everything, you are the stars of Cozy 💎👑🥇

Thank you also for hosting us in the absolute best way this White Friday, we were so well taken care of 🤍🤍🤍

For two days we've been cleaning and packing, preparing Cozy for three months of holiday ☀️🦎🍉
