💛 Long Live His Majesty the King 💛

On the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua,
28 July 2026,

I humbly join the people of Thailand in extending my heartfelt wishes to His Majesty the King for continued good health, happiness, and a long and prosperous reign.

Tourism was never meant to be “cheap.”
Because what you pay for is not only a hotel room, a van, or a boat ride.

You are paying for:
🌏 Experience
🤝 Connection
🎨 Creation
🌿 Culture
❤️ Real human lives

Every tour has people behind it.

The fisherman who wakes up before sunrise.
The local guide who spent years understanding the land.
The restaurant keeping family recipes alive.
The driver supporting a family.
The community protecting nature so visitors can still experience something real.

If you cut the price too far,
you cut the quality,
the sustainability,
the culture,
and eventually… people’s livelihoods.

Thailand is not becoming “expensive.”
Real experiences simply have real value.

Especially in places like Khanom and Nakhon Si Thammarat, where tourism is still connected to authentic local life not mass production.

We do not want tourism that destroys communities just to compete on price.

We want tourism that helps local people live better, protects culture, and creates meaningful experiences for everyone.

Because true travel is not about spending the least.
It’s about feeling the most. 🌊

And one more thing.

Some places may survive through heavy support and subsidies.
But we believe local people should not suffer just to make tourism look “cheap.”

Behind every tax payment is a hardworking human being trying to build a better life for their family.

That money carries effort, sacrifice, pressure, and hope.

So instead of asking:
“How cheap can tourism become?”

Maybe we should ask:
“How can tourism create dignity, value, and shared prosperity for the people who live there?”

“Thailand was never meant to be ‘cheap.’That idea was created by people looking at life through numbers, not understandi...

“Thailand was never meant to be ‘cheap.’
That idea was created by people looking at life through numbers, not understanding what life here really is.
Yes, prices are rising but that’s not Thailand changing.
That’s the world changing.
Every country is feeling it. Food, rent, energy everything is moving up.
So when people say ‘Thailand is getting expensive,’ what they often mean is…
they expected it to stay frozen in time while the rest of the world moved forward.
But life doesn’t work like that.
The truth is simple: Thailand is not cheap it is valuable.
There’s a difference.
Cheap means low cost, low expectation.
Value means what you receive is greater than what you pay.
And here, what you receive is more than just price:
A slower rhythm of life
A culture of kindness and respect
Food that feeds more than just your body
A way of living where not everything is measured in money
The real question isn’t “Is Thailand cheap?”
The real question is “How do you choose to live?”
Because you can spend a lot here.
You can also live simply and spend very little.
But if you come chasing “cheap,” you will always feel something is missing.
Because life becomes a calculation instead of an experience.
We are all human.
We all want the same thing a good life.
Not just lower costs… but peace of mind.
Not just savings… but meaning.
Not just survival… but living.
So come if you want a better quality of life.
Come if you respect the people, the culture, and the place.
But don’t come just because you think it’s cheap.
Because Thailand was never about being cheap.
It was always about living well.”**

🌏 Nakhon Si Thammarat: The Deep Roots of a Southern Civilization

Before Thailand was Thailand…
before Bangkok existed…

Nakhon Si Thammarat was already a civilization.

🛶 1. The Maritime Beginning (1st–7th Century)
Long before kingdoms rose, this land was already connected to the world.
Nakhon sat along the ancient maritime silk route
linking India, Sri Lanka, China, and the Malay world.
What does that mean?
It means ships didn’t just pass by…
they stopped here.
Traders exchanged spices, ceramics, and beliefs
Indian culture and religion began influencing the region
Early settlements formed along the coast (including areas like Khanom)
This wasn’t a remote place.
It was a gateway of civilizations.

🏝️ 2. Tambralinga – The Forgotten Empire (7th–13th Century)
Then came a name most people don’t know…
“Tambralinga” (ตามพรลิงค์)
This was the early kingdom of Nakhon Si Thammarata powerful maritime state tied to the Srivijaya network.
But here’s what’s interesting:
Tambralinga wasn’t just controlled by others…
it became powerful enough to stand on its own.

Controlled trade routes across the Gulf of ThailandSent influence as far as Sri Lanka
Played a role in spreading Theravada Buddhism
And along its coastline places like Khanom quietly supported this network as natural harbors and coastal settlements

🛕 3. The Rise of Nakhon Kingdom (13th Century)
This is where history becomes identity.
Around the 13th century,
King Sri Thammasok founded what we now call:
👉 Nakhon Si Thammarat
And built the spiritual heart of the South:
Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan
This wasn’t just a temple.
It was a declaration:
“This city is the center of faith.”
Nakhon became:
A religious capital of Southern Thailand
A political center controlling “12 satellite cities”
A key link between local culture and global religion

⚔️ 4. Between Kingdoms (Sukhothai → Ayutthaya → Thonburi)
Nakhon didn’t disappear… it adapted.
Became part of Sukhothai influence
Later integrated into Ayutthaya
Brief independence after Ayutthaya fell
Reunified under King Taksin
Unlike many cities that faded Nakhon survived every era
Why?
Because it had something deeper than power:
👉 Culture
👉 Religion
👉 Strategic location

🌿 5. The Living Culture Era (19th–20th Century)
While Thailand modernized…
Nakhon preserved.
It became known as:
👉 “City of Dharma” (เมืองพระ)
Here, traditions didn’t die:
Shadow puppetry (หนังตะลุง)
Nielloware craftsmanship (เครื่องถม)
Temple-based community life
Even today, you don’t “visit history” here…
you walk inside it

🚆 6. Modern Transformation (20th Century Present)
Then came infrastructure.
🚆 Railway (1914) connected Nakhon to Bangkok
✈️ Airport boosted accessibility
🌴 Tourism slowly began to rise
The economy expanded from:
👉 Agriculture (rubber, coconut, fishing)
➡️ Tourism + services + education

🌊 7. Khanom – The Silent Evolution
While the city evolved…
Khanom stayed quiet.
And that became its power.
From ancient coastal support zone…
to modern-day eco paradise
Today Khanom represents:
🐬 Rare pink dolphins
🌴 Untouched beaches
🌿 Authentic local lifestyle
It didn’t grow fast.
It grew right.

🚀 8. The New Era: Destination, Not Transit
For decades, people passed through Nakhon.
Now?
They stop.
And increasingly…
they stay.
Why?
Because the world is changing:
People don’t just want luxury anymore
They want:
Meaning
Culture
Nature
Peace
And Nakhon Si Thammarat delivers all of it.
🌌 Final Thought
That small light in the darkness…
like in your image
That’s Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Not the brightest yet.
But rising.
Slowly.
Naturally.
Powerfully.
