this week, the results of cup of excellence thailand 2026 were announced, and seeing yellow bourbon from p'wanna farm in maneepruek village score 87.23 felt like a meaningful moment for us🏆!
earlier this year, we had a chance to visit her farm in maneepruek village, nan province. whenever we think about the first farms we should go and learn from, maneepruek is always one of the first places that comes to mind.
there's something about that village that stays with all of us.
the people of maneepruek have been doing this for years, harvest after harvest, slowly building and refining what thai coffee is today. they are one of the people we've always looked up to.
yellow bourbon is one of bourbon variety natural mutations, known by its 'yellow' cherries when ripe. it's often offer a brighter and more delicate than red bourbon, with floral notes and a cleaner sweetness.
this recognition feels much more than a score / ranking. it feels like the result of years of work, not only from p’wanna, but from the people from the upstream who continue to shape the story of thai coffee at its source as well.
even though we don’t currently have yellow bourbon at our storefront, java (natural process) and syrina (washed) from p’wanna’s farm are now available at tarns coffee!🌞🏆
